Digger. If you a garbage collection system that really works and is totally efficient take a trip down under to Australia. The single operator truck can pick up and unload a bin within seconds plus the driver doesn't have to move.
@ronwilken5219
@ronwilken5219 3 жыл бұрын
Someone needs to visit Chatham, Ontario, Canada. Our city issued every home a "wheely bin" like the ones shown. You park it at the kerb on your day. The truck, which is fitted with a front hopper, drives up, a pair of mechanical arms clamps onto the bin, retracts to the hopper where it inverts the contents into the hopper and then returns it to the kerb. The truck moves to the next bin. Once the hopper is near full, after a dozen or so bins, it elevates over the cab to dump into the truck body where a conventional type "crusher" squeezes the garbage to make maximum space available. All is done by the driver alone and each bin takes less than a minute. Our street, 2 miles long, both sides of the road done in opposite directions is completed in about half an hour by one truck. Most efficient system I've seen yet other than not generating garbage at all.

In the area I live in, they would have to be capable of handling recycling bins which have non-recyclable items in them, because we get a lot of recycling bins here that are polluted with rubbish. The garbage truck would require dual cavities installed in it, one for the good recycling bins, the other for contaminated waste mixed with recyclables. It would also have to be capable of completely moving the rubbish to one cavity while leaving the other cavity clean. It would be preferable if it had good quality cameras installed and a large spread area for the items to fall into so it is easy to identify contaminants in the recyclables. It would also have to be capable of packing food contaminants and living organisms such as foul liquids, rotting food, bacteria, maggots, etc, that feed in the contaminated waste, whilst keeping them in the rubbish cavity. I've filed complaints with the relevant authorities, but it keeps going on, like a vicious cycle. People just don't care or have inclination to properly identify where recyclable items should be placed. My area would benefit from a collection truck that is capable of quickly and easily dealing with non-recyclables in a recycling bin.
@conorsmyth9963
@conorsmyth9963 3 жыл бұрын
That isn’t really possible in a recycling truck. Most recycling sorting takes place at the recycling facility anyways, not in the back of the truck
@DarkVoidIII
@DarkVoidIII 3 жыл бұрын
@@conorsmyth9963 Well I know there have been split bin systems in the past when the truck is collecting both waste and recyclables. What they haven't invented yet is a truck that can send a bin's worth of rubbish into either cavity as desired. I'm just saying that it would be something the garbage truck manufacturers might want to consider looking into.
@conorsmyth9963
@conorsmyth9963 3 жыл бұрын
@@DarkVoidIII Yes, that is what I was talking about too. It would be highly beneficial if that was invented, sadly I don't see it happening anytime soon. I know what you are talking about the the split bin trucks, they use them where I am from for certain things.

The features of the Econic, is that is has an option for lowering the truck all the way to the ground, and lift it to be able to ride over obstacles. I don''t get why Diamler can't make a decent steering wheel for freightliner trucks. Fuso has good ergonomics, why are freightliner steering wheels so awul to use?

Most are old tech already in the Netherlands , and some are not good at all.. imagine having to empty 2000 bins a day and also cleaning them inside the truck.. not gonna happen , time consuming.. also is there a guarantee that the batteries of the electric truck last 10+ years with daily heavy use...? .. i dont think so.. so its to expensive in long term to use them

@@fredlakota3595 just because it might be used for a decade in some places I guess some things can still be declared as being advanced compared to other systems, also regarding that there probably isn't that much evolution over the years. Underground trash bins for example is sth you hardly see anywhere in Germany, and if you do, those are public bins and none belonging to apartment buildings or similar
