I've done something similar to that with a cheap Lasko plastic box square fan with a burnt out motor. i had removed the burnt up weak motor. i had then drilled to small holes for the original motor to be mounted on. the had mounted a small shelf for the new motor to be mounted on and supported it with beams since the new motor is heavier. i had taken the back guard and cut a big hole in the back of it for the motor to stick out of. i hooked up a power switch and installed the 1 and a half horsepower electric utility motor. i never used a belt to spin the blade but just mounted the blades directly to the shaft of the motor. it was originally used for some kind of band saw or grinder. i had installed it and mounted the fans plastic blade. this homemade wind machine i shit you not blew the blankets off the bed and the curtains off my windows, it also blew the shower curtains out of the shower. i've never built a piece of machinery this powerful. this fan i think can beat this one in the amount of air they blow but mine is not industrial grade therefore it had a greater chance of breaking although mine has lasted a month without breaking but still the fan you have is still a cool fan.

Very Nice Demonstration & Window Fan. I really like the fact that you know how the fan pulls the air from outside the room. I knew about that too. I really want to get a better fan for my big bedroom upstairs. (+1 : 4)

How much Watts? Or horsepower. I have a patton air circulator that I put in the window, but I can't seal it, I'm collecting cardboard so I can, but I'll need a lot!

Window fans don't get any more powerful than those Sears Homart home coolers, which (as a made in USA product) are also much better made than the modern plastic Wal-Mart Holmes that are made in China. They don't make products like this anymore.

I have one of these sitting is the window of a shed. Missing a belt and needs power run to it. I might just fix it and give it a try! I plan on building a jet engine so it might just be what I need to give it some omf!

They do move the air. I can remember mother trying to fold clothes in front of one of those and socks getting sucked up onto the grill. LOL.

Powerful, but not the most powerful. Reed Unit-Fans has it beat.🤣 Seriously, the Sears Homart brand is indeed reliable. I once owned the Homart and the Reed.
