I am from Bahrain which is world 2nd most valuable currency, when I visit Kuwait I can say that: - petrol, cloths and hotels are cheaper than Bahrain - while food is expensive, but food in fancy places is similar to food prices in avarage restaurant, so I always dine in fancy restaurant and that will make it looks more affordable to fancy restaurant in Bahrain so yeah Kuwait can be affordable if you think smart 😉 BTW food there is tasy no matter what, so u will never regret it regardless of the price

Just went through Norway on my travels and loved it. Like anywhere, you can make it pretty much as expensive as you want. Hostels and buying from the grocery store to cook yourself so on. Regular life though... 20 pounds for two small beers at a bar 15 pounds for a kebab at 3am You also can't buy alcohol from stores after 8pm so keep that in mind if you'd like some but are on a budget.

A few things I would note: -while the KWD is strong, oil and lebanese food is cheap. It doesn’t mean everything else is cheap. Food like sushi would definitely cost more. Buying land or an appartment is almost impossible. -Since the weather is very hot and streets are not pedestrian-friendly, you need to make time to exercise. Which means you have to drive to and pay for a gym. Gym are expensive, it can go up to 60KWD a month. Any physical activity like squash, swimming…etc…will cost money. - insurance companies don’t function very well. If your car gets into an accident, you’re in for trouble (and public transport is not effective). One more thing, families live together in Kuwait as a cultural norm (adult children stay with their parents even if they can easily afford a rent). And Kuwaiti people do NOT create babies before marriage and a stable job. So they work their finances with low risk and stability. I just need to stress on that because I get foreigners who think Kuwaitis live in some free paradise without working…and I think it’s an unfair judgement.

It was a breath of fresh air for sure. But never would I live in a state like Alaska. Brutal winters and the sunlight patterns would mess me up. Almost no daylight in the winter to never ending daylight in the summer.

Chickpeas pot ($1), a pot of aash - a vegetable and bean stew ($1). 5 large Irani breads (30 cents). Those 3 wouls be enough for 2 people with a few breads extra. You can even have falafel sanwiches (30 cents each). Samosas and other fried street foods (some 10 pcs for 30 cents)

Im from kuwait, the only expensive things in Kuwait are mostly imported products, businesses need to make a profit from the spreads between getting the products like tvs and electronics and factor in thier shipping cost, which shipping companies will increase based on the gas prices. Ships and planes will need to increase their prices to account for fuel expense, so it ends up being more of a domino effect. Things made and grown IN Kuwait like ice cream or water or food meat veggies, coke, pepsi, etc, is cheap, gasoline is cheap..so it depends

I bet it was cheaper than my home country. But expect higher prices on commodities that the state can't produce, since there are import taxes and those are perishables.
