The WORLD’S SMALLEST WELDING SERVICE TRUCK! TAJFUN RCA400 repair.

Too cold to process firewood today. But, I can’t neglect a repair I’ve been putting off for a few dozen cords of wood- a small crack in the chassis of the TAJFUN RCA400 processor needs to be welded. I’m not so cheap that I couldn’t hire a professional welder but if I can convince my old generator to power my welder- I’m the man for the job!

Nice Jeff!. When welding outside with gas, I just use a clear plastic bag to shield the "shielding"gas. But we have 2 weld machines... one with gas (for the pretty welds) and one with flux (to fix stuff). You sir, have a wealth of knowledge.

Also the rate of cooling ...the stronger the wind the faster you will get cold ! 😊

I was struggling as well with our mig today…. come to find out we were out of gas. I can weld a stick all day long but have limited experience with a mig. Apparently the 220v ones work better too. Nice fix !!

I use my old stick welder when it just has to be strong- but the MIG sure is handy for little repairs and making pretty welds. I build my sawmill with that little MIG welder- I’ve burned miles and miles of wire through it. Hopefully the weather is better next week for a trip the Belliveaus Cove!

I was gunna suggest a torch to heat it up. Would it be an idea at some point to make a 3/16 rectangular metal piece and put it over that spot on the left side and weld it all up. Looks like a weak spot there. Nice fix. 32cm/13” about here yesterday. Sneak storm. Have a good friday. 👍🏻👍🏻👋👋🪵🪓🔥🇨🇦🥶🥶 -18C here this morning.

There’s a face plate that covers that up so I can ‘scab’ a brace on to it. I might be able to from the inside if I take the flap off. -18c here this morning too, no firewood made again today!

Good morning Kevin. I bought all my miller welders from Nova Industrial in Bridgewater. My TIG welder needed warranty repair- they sent it to Halifax to B. Harris welding. Common stuff Nova has- liners and nozzles, tips, wire that kind of stuff. They’ve been helpful to me over the years.
