When i was around 10-11 (15-16 years ago) i went to a Metal & Wood store here in a small town in sweden because i heard magnus was gonna be there, and he was, i was so shy that i stood next to him with a pen & paper for about 20 minutes because i didnt dare to ask and i didnt wanna interupt his conversation with another man. then the man he was speaking to said "i think you have someone here who wants an autograph" he turned around and asked me what my name was, and then he signed the piece of paper and patted me on the back. one of the most vivid memories from my childhood i have :)

I’ve heard that you should never meet your heroes. Probably true unless your hero is Magnus Samuelson. I’ve heard that he’s one of the nicest dudes on the planet. I remember watching him win WSM in 1998 when I was about 17 years old. Imagine a unipolar hypomanic grizzly bear. Super kind, bubbly personality, wrapped in a mountain of muscle.

@@reasorlloyd1 oh yeah, he is VERY beloved by the strength community here in sweden, and even the people who do not follow the sports would imidietly think about Magnus if you were to mention strong people. hes in a class for himself. actually got into strongman training myself due to him among other more modern day athletes, like Brian shaw & Eddie hall :)

I remember just growing up here in California in the United States. My father is 6'7" (200 cm, or 2m) and about 260 lbs (118kg) and I'll never be as big as him, but I always wanted to be. I watched WSM nonstop after I learned about it, and got my dad into watching it too. Such great memories I have, of watching older episodes of the competitions, and, my father being of Swedish ancestry, I always had a special place in my heart for the Swedish competitors, like Magnus Samuelson. This guy just has a wonderful personality! I wish I could have met him. Maybe some day I will...

I was a chef in a restaurant in Linköping, Sweden. There was a all you can eat buffet served every weekday. One day Magnus came in with his family. That man can eat!!! He was getting refill on a big plate for 5 to 6 times. The portions were so big that the plate almost break. That day my boss wasn't so happy 😊 My family's friends house were neighbor with Magnus and I spoke with him a couple of times, he is so big but one of the nicest person! Magnus could see what was going to happen, he was a seasoned arm wrestler and Nathan was a novice. The problem is that Nathan did that to himself, the way he twisted his body it was going to happen. The only thing Magnus could have done is give up to stop the break. I'm pretty sure this match is what stopped them from doing arm wrestling in WSM.

I´ve had BBQ with Magnus quite a few times. My sister in laws father was Magnus chiropractor during a few years after he tore his biceps. Magnus is such a down to earth guy. Gentle, warm hearted and kind. But...he becomes a bit giggly when he´s had a few beers. Like a little school girl. It´s quite funny since that´s problably not what you´d expect would happen with a big guy like him. :D

Remember back for 14years ago when I was 16, and was so happy that I did 38kg(6 rep) in dumbbell press. Wish I never quit training, but you know how it can be, young and looking good and a bit of adhd, was livin the life back then. Now my back have to pay for all the fun tho 😅
