Phenomenal work on this breakdown, my mans. And I have to give to you, World's Strongest is my absolute favorite Dragon Ball movie. We got Kaioken all over the place. First time I ever seen Roshi up in the fray. TRIPLE KAMEHAMEHA, Master and his students. Gohan in the cape before SSJ status, I know he doesn't do much, but he's still so little. And the choreography, Goku versus Pink, Green and Yellow were all great. But I have to get it to you, 20+ years of watching this movie and I've never seen Piccolo's fist in Goku's eyes, that is the literal craziest detail I've ever seen in this entire franchise.

This is what happens when companies actually care about their product and pay the big bucks to the good animators to put out QUALITY content for the people.
@TheSoulExplorer Жыл бұрын
The series and the movies have always shared the exact same staff. Money was never an issue either, both movies and series were always produced with the standard budget of the japanese market. The lack in quality has always been about terrible schedules and overworking. At some point the series started to decline in quality in its animation because they were pumping out TWO movies a year while having to work on weekly episodes. Again, the SAME staff. It is a common misconception to think that if they pay more, the animators will animate better. Not only that doesn't make any sense (no one does a bad job on purpose...) but also that is far from the truth. Terrible working conditions and near impossible schedules are the ones to blame.
@arrowofGod86 Жыл бұрын
@@TheSoulExplorer where do you get your information from? I know for a fact they used different animation companies throughout DBZ and especially DBS. That's why the animation in the DBS episides was so terrible and nowhere near the quality of movies like The World's Strongest or even Dragon Ball Super Broly. Scheduling conflicts did play a role but there is a difference in the money spent between animation companies. Obviously the less experienced ones are cheaper than the higher quality well established animators.
@TheSoulExplorer Жыл бұрын
@@arrowofGod86 They did hire many studios to work on the series. Where you got it wrong is to think that they cut corners by paying less for unexperienced studios. Toei has always hired companies that had been around for years and have worked on many series. The criteria was always how proven they were and how fast they could deliver the episodes while also helping out with the movies. Even the worst studios that worked on DB, Last House and Studio Live, were veterans in the industry. Do you think that they had low rates? Their biggest problem was the culture of their country: people get promoted based on their age and/or years on the company and not on their skill. The animation supervisors of said companies were not the most talented people on those studios, they were outclassed by some of their juniors by a clear mile. One such example is Naotoshi Shida, who had to work under the supervision of his less talented senior for many years on Studio Live. Or Tadayoshi Yamamuro on Studio Juno. So, again, Toei never held back on budget. They simply hired studios that were not ideal for Dragon Ball, had to work under terrible schedules and had to be involved on many projects and the same time.
