Mind-Blowing Monday #1: The World's Weirdest Calendar
Introduced in 1793 during the French Revolution, the French Republican Calendar was a radical attempt to create an entirely new calendar and measure for time.
The calendar was used during the French Revolution, however it was later rejected by Napoleon Bonaparte.
Find out more about the French Republican Calendar here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_....

The Anglo-Zanzibar war was one of the shortest wars in history and it lasted betwen 38-45 minutes. It started because the pro British Sultan died but they got over it quickly and ended the war.

On 15th of July 1469 there was a war for a cow between now Polish cities of Belgrad (Białograd) and Świdnin. After a minor conflict between local farmers, involving unkept cow-leasing agreement and thievery of said cow, a battle was fought. The brave citizens of Świdnin emerged victorious, allegedly killing 300 enemies and capturing between 50 and 300 loot wagons. Since 1969, the 500th anniversary of the war, the cities annualy prepare together celebrations of this mind-blowing conflict.

Gotta disagree with you, the Coligny calendar, a lunisolar calendar found in France, is weirder. The calendar has 12 months: six months of 30 days, five of 29 days and one month, Equos, that alternates between 30 or 29 days. It’s believed that Equos normally would have thirty days but every 61 years it would only be 29 days. In addition, every 2.5 years or so, an extra month of 30 days, Sonnocingos, was added.

Mind Blowing Fact: When the Assyrian empire was still around, they killed goats and took their skin and used it to make snorkels so they can sneak attack the enemy. They also had the idea of Longitude and Lagnitude, and mathametics. They invented the first iron weapons and conquered most of the middle east.

If you haven't yet covered Josef Stalin's insane calandar, can you cover that one also, please? That was particularly bizarre as it gave their national work different colour coded days off work. Large families where many of the older children worked weren't likely to have the same days off as each other to be able to do things together. Man, communism is whacked for the most part, although I very much approve of one aspect of it, where governments abolish all forms of churches, religions, and faith-based organisations. But that's solely down to me being raised in an incredibly destructive and highly controlled cult masquerading as a religion with tax-free exemption given by the US government. Like I said, my opinion is firmly set for that reason alone 🤷‍♀️ If you're curious as to the type of "church" in which I speak, look no further than the "church" of Scientology! But you really should be prepared for a deep dive down the proverbial rabbit hole with them. The "church's" use of 'fair-game tactics' was created by the prolific sci-fy writer, Hell Ron Hubbard, is enough to prove they aren't into the well-being of their members or communities. Just know that the prefaces of their doctrin is based on the "Galacric Federation" & a lovely communist overlord named Lord Xenu. Yeah, I shit you not 😬 That's one hell of a rabbit hole, folks! Holy Crap, I seriously digressed. Sorry 😉

In the 1920's Canada had a plan for a surprise invasion of the United States in the event of war. The plan was to move troops as far south as possible then as soon as serious resistance was met retreat to the border using scorched earth tactics. All this was to buy time for assistance from Britain and Japan.

If they made it 12 or 13 months of 30 days (the 13th month happening every five or six years), and also kept the names of the months and days (with new names for the three new days), as well as a three-day weekend with a mid-week day off, I think they would have nailed it.
@arianaisboss

But the days would be incredibly off each year if they removed the 5 day stuff
@arianaisboss
@arianaisboss Жыл бұрын
Also you’ll have to take leap year into account so the extra month will be 31 instead which would kinda ruin it
@MRB16th
@MRB16th Жыл бұрын
@@arianaisboss The idea of having the 13th month of 30 days every five or six years would be to serve as the additional five days (and a shade under six hours) over time. Of course, some may balk at having a 390 day year (particularly in the case of any year as horrible as 2020).

Weird? Weird? Our calendar is 7 days a week, 30 or 31 days a month or 28 days for February or somethimes it's 29 days, 12 months a year and is based on the birth of someone that has nothing to do with the creation of this calendar. How is ours not the weird one? Damn it, Napoleon why couldn't you just keep that calendar system and maybe it'd actually be the universal calendar system for today. Also something doesn't add up, if this calendar starts ar the exact birth of Christ then how is he born on the 25th December when the 1st day adter the birth of Christ is the 1st of January. Also, I want a new calendar system. Adopt the french one but the 1st year of earth would be the actual estimation for when the earth exist.
