I am very impressed with your shopping trip to Juneau and Costco. One of the things that impressed me the most was your willingness to allow the children to help you to scan your groceries. Many times people will leave their children in the carts and do it themselves, but you have found a way of helping the children to understand what they can do to help with their family. You have certainly developed some wonderful child rearing skills with your children.

Thank you. We sure try our best to involve the kids in everything we do. They really enjoy it.

i keep telling you to stock extra---with those price increases i am in the same boat as you..unreal how fast the necessities add up. you did good.

I'm so glad I watched your video, it made me realize how expensive Costco really is plus the membership costs. I don't live in Alaska but those prices are probably the same here in the states and no way would I pay those prices. Besides it's about 60 miles one way to the only Costco in my state. Happy Birthday!!
@LewisFamilyVlogAlaska2 ай бұрын
Whatever works for you! For us, it is definitely cheaper than other options. Thank you!

I would be so interested in what you home bake - do you do bread? What do you preserve. Xxx
@LewisFamilyVlogAlaska2 ай бұрын
Hi. I do make sourdough bread, but not every week, sometimes I make regular white bread. I do a lot of banana bread and muffins. We freeze a lot of local berries. We can fish as well and keep some frozen.

How often do you need to do this Costco run?
@LewisFamilyVlogAlaska2 ай бұрын
We try to shop like this whenever we are traveling, but it doesn’t always work out quite so well. I would say probably around 4-6 times a year.

How do you keep the food cold on the ferry ride?
@LewisFamilyVlogAlaska2 ай бұрын
Great question. We used a cooler bag with ice packs and hoped for the best! We usually have a cooler, but they got left in Kake. It all turned out fine thankfully.
