We finally did it.. For years I have fished the Adder Rock kayak fishing tournament and have always struggled to perform, but not this year. We headed over to camp on North Stradbroke Island for the weekend, weather was rough but the fishing was on, Big Time! Look out for part 2 where it really heats up.

Haha, yep one of the many super fancy features that the original owner payed for and now I get the pleasure of learning how to replace when the air struts go😅 I now know how to change the front struts on my wife’s disco 👍

I am the same Rod; pre comp and post comp I seem to get the fish but on comp day, there's some psychological sway I reckon. Great episode mate.

Na it wouldn't be. Tides change an hour a day, bait movement, water temp, current all play major parts. These fluctuations change thr gish congregations. When pre fishing give yourself multiple options. Comp day is always different.

I tried my hand at bass fishing on a small pond on a sit on top kayak. I spent more time figuring out how to balance and not tip over than I did fishing. Can't even imagine the core work out you get fighting the ocean.

That's some pretty hardcore kayak fishing there! Does make me feel a bit better as I get ready to buy a yak for the salt though. While that yak is definitely better suited to the surf and very rough conditions, what I'm getting should handle the North Pacific fine as long as I'm smart about conditions.

Haha, the family bailed because we have been working hard at getting a shop up and running and the weather predictions were a bit too terrible to justify taking the kids out of school. Yea the stealths are just perfect for this kind of surf launch fishing. Hobbies are good on the flat water but when the surf gets bigger you struggle to get out and end up wreaking gear along the way👍

I have used lots of different plastic kayaks in the past but none of them are as suitable as these for surf launch. All your gear fully rigged and safe inside if you come off. Also the ability to properly surf waves in👌👍
