Growing up I never felt confused or angry because I had people who were able to talk to us about Jesus’s death in a way that we as typically teenagers or at the least around 10 would understand. We weren’t being told the terrible details as young children. Something vague but it still gave us an understanding of what came from the crucifixion. Sometimes I don’t realize how blessed I am to have gotten and continue to receive, as many of us do, the wisdom of God. If that’s how he heard the word or interpreted it I feel bad for him and I really hope that he seeks understanding on his own.

I didn't know a whole lot about Jesus' death until i read it for myself. I grew up in a Christian family and went to church all through my childhood. I feel like the only things I really knew about Jesus crucifixion was He was nailed to a cross and died for our sins and came back to life.

@@haachamachama7 He was scourged beyond human recognition, had to walk to 6 illegal trials, then had to drag a 300 pound Cross as his internal organs were hanging out of his ravaged flesh and a multitude of broken bones. He was then nailed to the Cross. He was dehydrated and disoriented from the torture and not having food for about 2-3 days. Then the Cross was place upright to start the agonizing process of slow asphyxiation. The wooden splinters in the Cross cut deeper into his open, splattered vital organs as He tries to raise his legs up struggling to gasp a bit of breath. His wrists and shoulders were dislocated. Then, all the while people jeered and cursed at Him and throwing rocks into His wounds, scoffing, "If indeed you are King of the Jews, get yourself down." Slaughtered. Betrayed. Unrecognizable human battering and still voluntarily crawled into The Cross asking His Father, "Forgive them, for they know not what they do." They could not kill Him! He did not asphyxiate to dead... He finally surrender His Obedient Beautiful Soul into the Hands of His Father to finalize it with: "It Is Finished ( meaning all sins were all atoned for, ) and then, "Into to Your Hands I comment My Spirit." Purest Devotion for all mankind and COMPLETELY free for the asking. Not a greater and more selfless Love story ELOHIM has written for all civilization, all displayed before the entire world to see. It keeps me humble and grateful every day. cannot Praise and Exalt Him enough...but I do give Him my entire heart, kinyd, body and spirit . 🥲 🕊️

Or maybe he just realized all the inconsistencies in the Bible and the fact that the true evidence for the Christian god is equivalent to the evidence for the Muslim, Buddhist, pegan, etc gods. But I may be wrong because that is my own reasoning. The only way to know would be to ask the person themself and not makeup a reason. When leaving Christianity, that was very very annoying and frustrating when people would tell me why I left without asking me.

@@thisstupid757 if u rlly think that Christianity is on the level of other religions. I suggest you go check the wealth of manuscripts we have. More importantly, check out Capturing Christianity, he hosts many scholars on the topic of the resurrection of Jesus. The evidences for the resurrection of Jesus proves Christianity as a whole. If a human does the impossible, something only God can do, am I not inclined to believe in his power, words and promise? Of course if u want to dive deep into the resurrection of Jesus, you’ll have to buy a book. But ‘capturing Christianity’ is a great place to start. Unless even if Christianity was true, you would still refuse to obey God and believe in it, then you should give it a look

@@choosingbegger9799 I agree that this shows that the Father did also have a part in this, but Jesus did also "lay down his life for his friends". I don't think it was just either of them. Jesus did say at the finish of his prayer on the mount of Olives, "but not my will but yours be done" so we see it was both of their will because it was the Father's and the Son submits to his will. I find if a bit silly to debate who did what though, because Jesus is God as well as the Father is God and God's thoughts are not our thoughts and his ways not our ways, so we cannot really understand the ins and outs of how the interpersonal relationships of the trinity work because it is naturally incomprehensible to us. I just know this was all done as part of God's big beautiful plan to show his mercy and loving kindness to our wretched selves. Peace brothers.

But a sibling of mine does everything in her power to rebel and follow her path and views. Dad has educated her, showed her mercy, and has answered all of her questions so well she couldn’t utter another word, but yet she still willingly chooses to rebel. Isaac, I just wanted to thank you for the content you make. In August of 2021 my feed was flooded with content from you, John Piper, Doug Wilson, and Mike Winger, and I finally heard the gospel. All my life I was told "Jesus loves you, God loves you" and I mistakenly thought "Well, if God loves me, then I'm good, I won't go to hell so long as I don't kill anyone or anything like that". From the age of 13 to the age of 19 I was addicted to pornography and also dealt with compulsive lying and hate/anger issues. In September of 2021 I realized how I had fallen short of God's standards and had been living life as an agnostic sinner, I gave my heart to Christ. I've still struggled with sin, in the past 9 months I've had a few moments of relapse with pornography usage. After each relapse I felt as if I'm hopeless and not saved because I still deal with sin, I feel this is a common thought process people go through after sinning, but we can't let that keep us down. Every day we must get up and put to death our flesh desires, and fight a spiritual war within us. Got a little off topic of the topic at the start of this comment, but again, I just want to thank you, and others like you, for spreading the true gospel, not the distorted one that progressive Christians use that says hell isn't real and you don't need to follow Christ to be saved.

Isaac David, I’m struggling with Christianity right now. I’m especially hung up on the debate between Lordship Salvation vs Free Grace Theology. These are my questions: Is repentance of sins necessary for salvation? Is discipleship a consequence if salvation? Are good works a sign if saving faith? If all sins are forgiven and salvation can’t be earned, what’s to stop a believer from living in carnality? How to I know if any works I do are convictions of God or something done of my own will? I don’t expect an answer to these questions, but I hope that they reach you and that you would address them if it’s isn’t too much trouble.

@timothy4641
@timothy4641 2 жыл бұрын
First, I am not a theologian so I might not have the answers but I believe I may be able to help point you in the right direction. Q1. Is repentance of sins necessary for salvation? In a word, yes. Without confessing sins, what are you being saved from? You need to recognize that you are a sinner, have no way of measuring up to God's standard, and are on you way to hell. Here are a couple of verses that back up this point, Romans 10:9 "If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." 1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." Q2. Is discipleship a consequence of salvation? A bit more difficult but let's think about the whole package. We as humans are dead in our sins. We have no way to help ourselves, no way of even knowing we are condemned unless the Holy Spirit sheds light on your spiritual situation. Now, if we are coming to Christ, begging for forgiveness and accepting his perfect life, sacrifice on the cross, and his resurrection, and gain new life in him, what is it that we owe him? Our new life. That is what salvation is about. If we don't even care about being a disciple, what are we even asking to be saved from sins? The eternity we are promised is a complete and total love of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit that comes to clean our lives in this world while we look forward to our future home. Luke 9:23 "Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me." Q3. Are good works a sign of saving faith? Q5. How do I know if any works I do are convictions of God or something done of my own will? I think these are close enough to answer together. If there is a difference I am not seeing, please let me know. But to the question, I think the answer is motive. Why? Why do you want to do good things for people? If its for selfish reasons like, "I helped a lady cross the street because I wanted to make people see how nice I am," I would say no. But if you did the same thing thinking "I think God would want me to..." the answer would be yes. There is a fine line, but an important one. After all, we are saved to be a light to the world and one of those ways is to do good things in Jesus' name. Ephesians 2:8-10 "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Q4. If all sins are forgiven and salvation can't be earned, what's to stop a believer from living in carnality? So, our human nature LOVES to sin. It feeds on it. Craves it. Doesn't want to give it up. This is why there are so many people doing terrible things and celebrating it. They don't see how wicked they are behaving in the sight of God. And God sees everything as his wrath is building up every day by what he sees going on in the world he created. Think back to the story of Noah. It was so terrible that its written God was sorry he ever made man, that every thought of in their heart was wicked. Which is why he ended up sending the flood. Diverging for a moment, I think the reason Noah was saved was because God promised that he would send a child of the woman (Jesus) to crush the head of the serpent (Satan) Now that we have established how wicked we are by default, what is it we get when we are washed clean? Jesus sends the Holy Spirit to us, to work on our lives and make us WANT to do what is pleasing to God. The flesh and the Spirit are at odds all the time. On the one hand, sin is so enticing. Its why Christians can and do still sin. But the Holy Spirit is just that, holy. He works on us from the inside out. Some changes are probably pretty sudden. For example, swearing. I can't say this for everyone but for me that was the biggest change. For others its drinking. Or smoking. Or drugs. Other problems will take more time to get out of your life. Here's a couple verses that may highlight that a little better. Romans 6:1-7 "What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. 6 For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin- because anyone who has died has been set free from sin." I hope this helps answer your questions. God bless.

The only time I would ever advise you to not teach a story to kids would be if that specific kid had some sort of issue with reading comprehension and would be succeptible to grossly misinterpret something, and would be very difficult, if even possible, to explain to them the correct interpretation. It's not something that would effect kids, as in every kid. It's something that specific kids would have a problem with. Jesus' death is no such a case for anyone I knew as a kid.

He knew that this would happen and planned it because that was how he was going to save the world… his story was explained to me that Jesus could have called down angels to protect him and kill all the Roman’s, but he didn’t because this was in HIS plan. The Kuntillet ‘Ajrud inscriptions mention blessings by the names of YHWH of Samaria and YHWH of Teman. Like all ancient Near Eastern gods, these two regional gods must have had central temples. This article examines their possible locations and suggests that the combination of the Kuntillet ‘Ajrud inscriptions with the eighth-century prophecies of Amos and Hosea holds the key for identifying these. In light of a detailed analysis of Hosea’s and Amos’ prophecies, it is further suggested that YHWH of Samaria was the name of the major God of the Kingdom of Israel and his main temple was located at Bethel, and that YHWH of Teman was the name of the God of the southern desert regions and his temple was located at Beer-sheba. Israelite traders who traveled southward probably visited the latter god’s temple, offered him sacrifices, made vows to repay him if they succeed in the expedition, and thus turned him to be their patron god during their travel in the desert region. This suggested identification explains why the Judahite cult place of Beer-sheba appears in Amos’ prophecy alongside the Israelite sanctuaries of Bethel, Gilgal, and Dan.

Nathan - John Piper is a heretic, he is a calvinist and the saddest thing is that he is doesn't preach the gospel of our salvation given to Paul by Jesus Christ and this pride and self-righteous man has deceived many souls!!! John 14:6 - King James Version 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. 1 Timothy 2:4-6 - King James Version 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. Romans 1:16 - King James Version 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. (The Letter of Paul to the Romans) Romans 5:18 - King James Version 18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. (offence of one - Adam's one trespass, one sin, led to the condemnation of all men - the righteousness act of one was Jesus' death on the cross to pay for human sin) Salvation is not getting your sins forgiven, it's believing they already are! We are all sinners and fall short in God his glory - how to be saved - this is the gospel of salvation - 1 Corinthians chapter 15 verses 1-4 by trusting and believing the gospel of salvation you are saved and sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise till the day of redemption and nothing can pluck you out of the Father his hand - (In whom we have redemption through his blood , even the forgiveness of sins: (Colossians 1:14 - King James Version) - eternal security is a free gift - it's a promise and God Almighty cannot lie!!! Have a blessed day! This is the gospel of salvation - 1 Corinthians chapter 15 verses 1-4 Witnesses of Christ's resurrection. 1) Moreover,brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2) ''By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3) For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4) And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures. Ephesians 2:8-9 - King James Version 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. IT IS FINISHED... Paid in Full !!! But, You Must BELIEVE IT - 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV. 2 Timothy 2:15 - King James Version 15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Romans 2:16 - King James Version 16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel. (Paul's Gospel - 1 Corinthians chapter 15 verses 1-4). Galatians 1:8-9 - King James Version 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. KJV - Bible verses about Jesus is God John 1:1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:14 - And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 10:30 - I and my Father are one. Isaiah 9:6 - For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. John 20:28 - And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. John 8:58 - Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

Carnal minded people are never going to understand the significance of what Jesus did for us....never. Also if you are considered a "babe" in God the Father's eyes you will never fully grasp it either...you are supposed to trust not question and Jesus knew what his purpose was beforehand because he volunteered. You can't just see it as he was murdered but what was the significance as to why ....if humans weren't so awful it wouldn't have ever had to happen but it did and humans are still awful. Instead of questioning the reasons to why ! You instead say "thank you" ....you have to be Holy Righteous(having Faith and Believe) in order to be anywhere near God and that can only come through Jesus because once our spiritual essence is placed into one of these bodies it becomes wicked and God won't allow you to enter the Kingdom because you have to be cleansed that comes through Christ....Loving Christ should not ever be hard for people....it's a no brainer but you know people with twisted perspectives 😒

The vocalization Molek occurs eight times in the Masoretic Text, predominantly (five times) in Leviticus: Leviticus 18:21 "And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD." * I am the Yahweh * "thy" seed (🤨) Leviticus 20:2: "Again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel, Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that giveth any of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones." * "his" seed (🤔) Leviticus 20:3: "And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name." * "his" seed (😕) Leviticus 20:4: "And if the people of the land do any ways hide their eyes from the man, when he giveth of his seed unto Molech, and kill him not" * "his" seed (😬) Leviticus 20:5: "Then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him, to commit whoredom with Molech, from among their people." Two further occurrences connect the practice with Tophet, a place of sacrifice in the Valley of Hinnom (Gehenna, which later acquired the connotation of "Hell"): 2 Kings 23:10: "And he (King Josiah of Judah) defiled Topheth, which is in the valley of the children of Hinnom, that no man might make his son or his daughter to pass through the fire to Molech." * "his" son or "his" daughter (🤢) Jeremiah 32:35: "And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin." * "their" sons/"their" daughters (🤮) * neither came it into my mind (🥸) The practice of "passing through fire" (`abar ba-'esh עָבַר בָּאֵשׁ‎) associated with the name Moloch in the citations above also occurs without reference to Moloch in Deuteronomy 18:10-13, 2 Kings 16:3 and 21:6 and Ezekiel 20:26,31 and 23:37. Isaiah 30:33 has the vocalization melek ("king"), but this is widely accepted as an omission of the Masoretic correctors: "For Tophet is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared; he hath made it deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of the LORD, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it." *(LORD = YHWH = Yahweh; see Yahwism) On the other hand, while 1 Kings 11:7 has the vocalization Molek, in "Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon", this is widely accepted as an error for Malkam (Milcom), the specifically Ammonite idol.

How? On page one of genesis god is already plural. In genesis 6 the sons of god "take" Earthly wives. What dreary nonsense.

I think understanding the trinity is also helpful for us here because Jesus is GOD the Son which means God Himself sacrificed Himself for us. He’s not a god like in Greek myths that sacrifices others, but He came down and sacrificed Himself. God the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit are one and have the same will, so God the Son wasn’t blind sighted He knew and willingly gave Himself up. The Trinity can get confusing and tricky to explain so I’ll just stop there but yeah the idea that all three work together is very helpful to dispute the claim that God the Father was abusive.

I work in a Christian church daycare. We do not give details on how we killed Jesus. We just say "the world was filled with people who loved the dark and there were people who didn't agree with Jesus, so they put him on a cross to make him stop. And he died for three days."

This is the understanding I've inherited: Humans turned away from God when they sinned. In order to be saved a huge debt was owed. God, being all loving and all powerful, took the debt upon himself as the son (fully man and fully God). God could have chosen to elect another means of salvation, however he didn't because being all knowing he has purpose behind this means of salvation. If he had just saved us with the snap of his finger we would have learned nothing of how to love Him or each other. However, through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus we can see the extent of God's love for us as one of the greatest ways to express love is through sacrifice, suffering, and dying for someone.

If god is all good and all powerful, why did he create a world with suffering?

@@user-gv8xf9ul5j hey I would recommend looking up stuff responding to the problem of evil. In short God allows evil to happen to allow us to have free will because without free will we could not choose to love Him (there are many videos that you could check out that go in more depth). Great question :)

God is completely a father, that includes having to punish his kids. People now and days seem to forget that. Good video man.

Surprise surprise! Who would've thought that the bible, a historical text, would have been as graphic as it is? Christ died for our failings. He allowed the least of us in life, the worst of us in life, to be redeemed. He was the final sacrifice of flesh to God to forever wipe away our sins. I think the most important counter argument to this fellows point is that, yes Christ suffered and died, yes his father allowed it to happen, but then he came back from the dead. Not metaphorically, he LITERALLY came back from the dead and sealed the deal for us with that. This shows us that whatever happens here is irrelevant, we'll die, then come back, what is relevant is how we conduct ourselves, how we obey God
