The Worst Board Games of 2024

Bravo on making a worst list. This should be required from anyone hosting a game channel. I preordered seti and I’m close to canceling for the many negatives it has received so far.

people will downvote me to oblivion for this but my most disappointing solo games were - the brambles: too much randomness, too large suits and too many of them. - palm laboratory: art obscures the game mechanics. no achievements, no unlock cards. Several steps backward from the genius palm island. - fallen land: aside from the bases hextiles, no hex has any distinguishing features from another. You're setting up a base camp and are swamped in characters, tools, vehicles, it's too much information at once. - space hulk death angel - after finally learning the game the amount of information on the board gave me a migraine. - concordia: I'm probably too lazy for this solo, but I prefer other people doing stuff while it's not my turn. - grove/orchard: I just don't see it. I score around 20. Good players score around 80.

I’ve only ever heard of Concordia but never done it solo

Different strokes I guess. Haven't played Let's Go To Japan with anyone who didn't like it. The strategy and scoring seem pretty straight-forward.

For me it was Intarsia this year. I really wanted to love it because I really like the Azul series. Game components were neat, but after playing it twice now don't think I'll play it again. Vs Azul base game I've played over 200 times with people I know (and won't even mention the count with random people on bga).

I completely forgot about Intarsia, it really did flop for the legacy of Azul and the production that went into it.

Wait, how are the mushroom tracks in gnome hollow hard to track? As soon as someone sells mushrooms you block out how many they sold, thus keeping track for you. There is no memory required. Then you can just glance at the track and tell what quantities of shrooms have been sold.

Worst and best are subjective words, what did you expect? A investigation on the components quality? Of course this video is going to be subjective just like the vast majority of best and worst board games video out there.
