There's an interesting interpretation to this story where Pete and then the narrator don't actually have to bring new people at all. There's no mention of proof that there will be consequences if the don't, Pete doesn't say "I saw them following me and they were getting closer" or something. So maybe they're just unnecessarily perpetuating the cycle of death on the threatening implication alone. Could lean into that psychological horror aspect a bit more. Good story.

I love this story because it mentions my three favorites: hiking , camping and backpacking. The end was creepy and horrible. And I need to add this: I always go alone on my adventures, because you can't trust anyone when you are in the wilderness. Keep uploading, please ❤😮.
