It is hand made, sometimes you get a bad one. It happens. Try another one.
@HBCigars4 ай бұрын
It’s true hand made products do have higher fail rates. I’ve talked to several people and this is a very common occurrence with this particular blend. Even, let’s say, a 20% burn rate would be unacceptable imo at this price point.

@@HBCigars oh weird! I haven't smoked this cigar in particular but I like the other Caldwell cigars and must say I haven't noticed any construction problems with them. Thx for the content! Cheers!

I'm guessing its blended with a poor batch of tobacco , probably the Peruvian. Never had a Caldwell . I roll my own cigars and there is some leaf that refuses to burn, I have some Dominican Olor Binder that has to be used as a filler.
@HBCigars4 ай бұрын
That’s amazing that you roll your own stuff. What would you say would cause more burn issues. The binder being bad or filler?
@aromatix57414 ай бұрын
@@HBCigars looked like the filler. Caldwell sources their tobacco so there is more chance of getting sub par leaf as opposed to say a farm that grows and processes its own tobacco like Perdomo.
@aromatix57414 ай бұрын
Oh , I see. For most store bought cigars , definitely the filler. It would be catastrophic for cigars to have bad binders whereas you can get away with poor burning tobacco by keeping it in the center of the bunch.
@HBCigars4 ай бұрын
Makes sense! What would you say causes a filler not to run at all? Bad fermentation or drying?
@aromatix57414 ай бұрын
@@HBCigars that's a good question, I'm pretty sure it's a bad combination of minerals absorbed by the leaf, due to bad fertilization and when you get that real char taste I'm guessing that's the main cause. Other more common reasons are too much ligero and not enough thinner more combustible leaves. You have to really know your tobacco as some heavy leaves actually burn well and some thinner leaves don't and it's part of blending you have to understand. But it your case with the Caldwell I'm sure the original blend burned and tasted fine but sometimes the company gets a very inconsistent batch. Actually I should do a video on the topic and Actually show how much different leaves can be in a pound of the "same leaf ".

Try dry boxing it, see if it helps. Overall Caldwell is junk just like lost and found. Very few I have liked over so many of their cigars in existence
@HBCigars4 ай бұрын
I have another one ill give a got in a couple months. I'll drybox that one. Resting at 65rh it shouldn'y be necessary but there's something wrong with these sticks.
@Ghostblaze14 ай бұрын
@@HBCigars for sure, I have had quite a few that have had construction issues, hence why I gave up on the brand overall.
@nonames45334 ай бұрын
Im confused. If its stored for 3 months at 65RH, its a bad cigar if it wont stay lit at the end. Full stop, nothing more to add. Dryboxing is a dumb fad. Stop endorsing it.
@Ghostblaze14 ай бұрын
@@nonames4533 not a fad at all. I have had some cigars that were over humidified and very spongy. Didn’t smoke right at all. Dry boxing shook off that excess humidity and the burn was spectacular. You can even leave it on a counter at home, doesn’t have to be in an actual cigar box. It does work, I have tried it on several cigars. Is it necessary? No it depends. Most of my cigars are perfectly stored from 62-65% and no need.
@HBCigars4 ай бұрын
@@nonames4533 I never dry box. Don't see the need at 65RH. Most sticks come out measuring in the 62-65rh range in the humidimeter
