Unfortunately these things happen. My first race lasted 2 corners. I've got injured so badly that i won't be able to ride for 3-6 months. See you in 2021

@@maseratifittipaldi Jep, a bone of the lower ankle joint, the calcaneus/Heel bone broke into 5 parts. Luckily the Docs were able to fix that... The Rest of the foot is fine, just the ligaments were a little bit damaged.

Running theory is two factors. 1: Loss of heat in tyres due to the double wait. 2: Eagerness to catch up after a slow start. I don't run tyre warmers. I race supermoto against people with tyre warmers. I'm shit at starting because I have an old bike with no launch control. I had to learn the hard way. Thankfully I came out with scrapes and bruises the few times I crashed early. Naska wasn't as lucky. Unfortunately we can only wish him a speedy recovery. It's a shame because if it were just the bike I would have happily donated a 2nd time.

@@nyleen im leaning towards tire cooled off too much. Off warmers and 1 lap, sit for 2 minutes then another lap, then sitting and waiting again for race to start probably caused him to lose too much heat in rear tire.

Would a different boot have helped, looking at the way your foot hit the ground I don't think so: but I wanted to ask your opinion on your race boots?

I think the dislocation actually happened on the footpeg when the bike flicked him, not when he hit the floor. I also think the boot didn't help there. His foot was already bent way over on its side even before the flick. I'm surprised the boot allowed him that much range of motion.

Alberto, you videos are great , EVERYONE loves you, that was hard to watch but I’m grateful for you for posting it. If you somehow save one rider form a crash like that because of things learn from this video then all your suffering and pain will not be in vain. Seriously, I have had many track days now and getting faster and faster with each one. But each track day I become more and more confident that I can push harder and lean more etc because I haven’t had an incident, than I see a video like this and it brings me back to reality and makes me realize the potential and the stakes even with great experience.
