I'm also a supporter for it. I acknowledge it has the Cuphead framework, but I simply find the character designs too charismatic to dislike it in any capacity. If nothing else, it's one of the most unique cases where a game that could be called a "rip-off" manages to impress me. Btw, the game is still being worked on, if you didn't know! The devs are Epic Megagrant recipients, so they're full steam ahead on it!

In terms of gameplay Juanito: Arcade Mayhem isn't really a Cuphead rip-off at all, as much as it is Buster Brothers. You ever play Buster Brothers? It's good. You use Haroons or sometimes a gun to pop bouncing bubbles.

Honestly, I feel like Enchanted Portals could have been a pretty solid game. I have no idea if it was cancelled or not but I hope it wasn't because even though it's clearly a Cuphead knockoff, the bosses look pretty interesting and kind of unique enough to not be completely lazy reskins of already existing Cuphead bosses.

@@aidan2727 It's a youtube kids channel that makes very cringy animations of things like FNAF,SpongeBoB,Poppy Playtime etc. And he also seems to steal a lot of ideas from a youtube channel called GH'S. He even makes some stuff that i don't even know how it's for children like Huggy Wuggy eating somebody's organs or Gregory cutting off Vanny's ears and feeding it to other people. Some of his videos are even straight up copies like in one where he copied another video from GH'S which was the first video from the "I'm Not a monster" series he just basically took that video and made an effortless cringy animation of it. Conner made a lot of videos about him so you should go watch them

Aw, never realised Enchanted Portals got cancelled. It's kinda sad because, well, clearly they put a lot of effort into this, this wasn't just some cheap BS Android endless runner with clipart sprites that someone knocked out in five minutes and then put Cuphead into the name to cash in on it. This, while seeming to basically be the same game, was, well, ACTUALLY the same game, done competently. And that would just mean we'd have more of the same kinda game, which wer'e not gonna get a lot of, given how time consuming Cuphead's production was by necessity. So in a way, that is a bit of a loss.

I’ll be honest, Enchanted Portals did have all the time put into it, even I did like how creative most of the bosses were like Ludwig Beethoven. But what doesn’t help their situation is the fact they were extremely unoriginal with their animation motions in action and poses. The wand firing, the jumping, the dashing, and not to mention their expressions when firing, they felt more plagiarizing than inspired. And since they’re working with Epic Games to get this game out, I hope they took the time to change these certain animations so this game can be worthy to be called “inspired”. The result they’re doing back then is like trying to make a Mario clone, but trying hard to mimic his poses and animations without trying to be original. If you want a better example of an inspired game, look at Freedom Planet. Even in the beta, the creator was planning to make it a Sonic clone with the noises included and spinning sign, he then had second thoughts about it and decided to make the game an inspired alternative to Sonic. Other than including his own character like Lilac, what he did great was giving Lilac her own running animation, her own jumping animation, her own expression when doing certain action, and to add the icing on top, give her own special moves like her cyclone glide, her dragon boost, and include her own melee attacks from both air and ground. Now THAT is how you make an inspired game, just by sticking with the genre, but keeping every content, detail, and intention original by one’s idea and not anyone else’s. That is something the creators from Enchanted Portals should learn to avoid being called out about their big elephant in the room.

The term rip-off for juanito arcade mayhem is stupid like its barely similar to cuphead. And rip off means that its basically the same thing but a bit different for example, ea games. And games being inspired by other games are usually called a "rip-off" and games being inspired by older games will not usually be claimed as a "rip-off" because they can mistaken to be stealing from another newer game that wasn't claimed to be a "rip-off" and the longer the time of it being released itu wont be said as "rip-off" to many people some will still call it a rip off but is a newer game inspires of its called a "rip off" for some reason (example: hollow knight where it used to be called as a rip off but now isn't newer games metroidvania styled game like crow sworn or something is being called a rip off of hollow knight

People need to calm down about saying “Enchanted Portals isn’t a ripoff, it’s inspired.” I see ripoffs as things just too similar to the original making them not exciting and new, with Enchanted Portals, I know the characters are different, but is the gameplay and style different? No, by the looks of it. So, I say it’s kinda of ripoff. With inspiration, I say they are things that have similar to the original, but have so many differences. Like take Juanito Arcade Mayhem, I say that’s inspiration, because it has a different concept, but also similar stuff, as in it’s a cartoony world, a run-and-shoot, and difficultly. But this is just my unpopular opinion
