I was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa at just 4 years old and began public speaking at age 5. I started just doing motivational speaking, but now I make videos and even model! Even though I can’t see, I know that there are bright spots in everything we face. Let’s find them together. 💕

You have to watch the video "blind people describe beauty". There's a young blonde woman who's probably one of the most shallow people I've ever seen or heard talking about it. She says she only dates men which her friends say are good looking so that other people can see her dating someone handsome. If they say that they hit the gym that's super important for her. And she said that everyone else (including sighted people) is the same... Nope.

WARNING!!! Nine times out of ten when a manipulative person waits until last minute to let you know they’re going to be late OR they just leave you waiting and show up really late with no real explanation ITS A TRICK. They are trying to see if you’re “desperate” enough to wait for them and if you do they think they can treat you however they want I’ve seen this happen so many times and talked to guys&girls about this. It sucks because I’m an easy going person so I’m happy to wait for someone that doesn’t mean I’m desperate ya know? Either way pay attention to red flags people please 💗

I also think a lot of it is in how late they are & how they act when they show up. I'm personally horrible with time and habitually late to everything.. but it's normally within 15 mins with apologies. If someone is calling a minute before, they should only be 5 mins away. That's just how it works when it's legitimate.

**RANT** My worst date was with a guy I matched on Tinder too. From his online presence he seemed great... He seemed interested in what I had to say, we had a lot in common and he was complimentary to me. So I decided to meet up with him for a cold drink and a stroll around a nearby busy park at daytime. First of all I was discussing things we said we had in common (TV shows, music taste) and he cut me off to say 'I have a confession to make I don't watch/listen to any of that shit I just googled some stuff so you thought we liked the same things'... Wtf? But the worst thing was throughout the date he kept using the phrase 'most guys....' for example 'most guys would prefer to date people shorter than you but I'm different' 'most guys like girls a few sizes smaller than you but Im not shallow' and 'most guys hate girls who wear make up like yours but I think it's cool' it's like he kept putting me down to think he's this AMAZING guy who's DIFFERENT cos he liked someone who's supposedly unlikeable by 'MOST GUYS'. At the time I was a big pushover, my previous relationship was with a manipulative, horrible man. But I finally had enough and said 'MOST GIRLS wouldn't put up with the amount of bullshit that comes out of your mouth but here I am, I'm not wasting any more of my time.' and then I stormed off and decided not to date for a while and focus on self love. Which I've realised is so much more important than feeling the need to have validation from other silly men 😂❤️

I love the ending! Some people are so weird. I also dislike people who try to make themselves better by saying they're so different from "the others", all are wrong, they're right. But here you are right, in French we have a saying that could be roughly translated as "Better to be alone than with the wrong person". I've been single almost all my life and I don't care, I personnally think it's better to wait for the right person than throwing myself in the arms of the first saying yes. :-)

Exactly, I actually had a similar situation, I am also blind and I got connected with this one dude who was actually specifically looking for blind girls because he had some type of a skin condition I believe it was psoriasis that condition that causes you to develop a white flaky sort of rash on your face and scalp, he was really self-conscious about it and he had been rejected because of it previously, so he was literally trying to find a blind girl who would not be able to see it so that he could have that advantage, and when I told him all jokes aside, if it didn’t occur to him that any blind girl is going to ask her friends or someone what he looks like he got really offended and told me to fuck off etc. as if what I said was extremely offensive.

Shelby Mathews well, it started with him being late cuz he stopped to buy a book(NBD). They told us they were closing early when we ordered our drinks, then when that time rolled around he acted like they were rude. Then he suggested we grab a cab somewhere else. On the way he “discovered” he didn’t have cash to pay for it, so I had to pay. He had actually sent the cab to his house. I figured I paid for it so I might as well hang around(he was friends with someone I knew, & they knew I was with him). There was an awkward moment where he was like “kiss me,” no spark. He got moody when he saw it wasn’t going further cuz I pulled away. He was suddenly tired, but I was totally ready to leave. When I stepped out of his door, he leans out, points up the street & is like “the bus stop is just up that way” & it was around 1am. This dude really thought he was going to get laid, then acted all annoyed.

I genuinely believe that your initial gut feelings about someone are pretty accurate. So glad that if you were in that situation again today you would have GTFO. I knew from the moment I met my current partner that he was someone I wanted to spend more time with. He and I actually almost accidentally walked out without paying for our coffees on our first date (it was a pay when you’re done cafe instead of pay when you order). We had such engaging conversation and we were so interested in continuing it as we were leaving that we both totally forgot, then had to quickly run back in all embarrassed and pay. I knew from that first date that I wanted to be with him. I’m a total introvert and no one has ever held my attention and interest for that long without my brain screaming at me to leave. I hope when you’re ready to date, you find someone perfect for you, just like I did.

My worst date was on Valentine’s Day when I went to the cinema and MACDONALDS and had to pay for my dates lunch. He then goes on to SHOPLIFT from Tesco’s and Smiggle. He gave me the keyring he stole and the chocolates I was furious and called my mum to collect me, who got hold of the security at Tesco and the police and got this boy arrested. Worst thing was he was my neighbor at the time! I had to face him almost everyday. A year later he still hated me and gave my phone number out and I got texts telling me to kill my self. I screamed at him for that like full on phsyco at his front door. Now he has nothing to do w me and has a criminal record.

Not replying to a text is not always ghosting, sometimes silence is the BEST thing we can say. My ex-fianceé, who broke up with me a few months before the wedding date, texted me about a month after he dumped me and asked if he could borrow my car... I never replied, it’s not worth my time or energy. You are an amazing woman, Molly!

My ex boyfriend (we dated for 6 years) texted me, called me and email me until 2.5 years after the break up (with periods between those) The best thing I did was not answer the last ones, my mental health wasn't good but he sure made it worse and for this day (3.5 since brak up) I'm still not OK, so yep, not answering nothing and no one related to him...

"...sometimes silence is the BEST thing we can say." YES!! 100% Sometimes, even face to face, the only responses that come to mind are downright cruel, and, at best, would provoke heated confrontation. I think most of the people I'm close to would be shocked if they could hear my thoughts sometimes! I'm thankful to also have a strong sense of compassion as a filter that simply keeps my mouth shut!!

As a blind girl transportation can also be a factor, depending on the circumstances and if the distance is short enough for it to be affordable for the person to use Uber or not, because it’s a really bad situation of something like this happens and we have no way of getting picked up because if we just have a family member or friend schedule to pick us up at a certain time or if it’s using a service like access paratransit that Hass to be scheduled in advance we are totally screwed, that’s why I have learned that the best option is just to try to meet in public places that are at locations that you would normally go anyway and try to schedule it just like before or after something else that you’re going to do, or something like that

I'll accept traffic/car trouble as an excuse. Wrecks and unexpected road closures happen, and there's nothing anyone can do about it. I also drive a 30-year-old car, so I'm all too aware of the myriad ways a car can crap out on you (my favorite was when my alternator died...on the highway. Fun times.) However, I don't want to be left hanging; if a person's going to be late, they need to call (or text) me. I know both are illegal to do while driving in some states, but a text sent while sitting in gridlock would be enough.

A beautiful Ryan Gosling semi pro soccer player was coaching abroad in my home town. We met on tinder, and really really hit it off. We walked around my town, and drank a small bottle of vodka together well into the night. I took him to my favorite spots around the town, and we watched the dam in the river for a while. I showed him what a toad was (apparently they don’t exist in England??) and found out that my ma’s side of the family are from the same town he lives in. We held hands and talked like we were already in a relationship. It was really lovely. The next morning, we went to a cafe for lunch, and I showed him RANCH DRESSING. (How does anyone not know what ranch dressing is???) I dropped him off at the family’s home he was staying at, and we had plans to meet again. .....he left to country HOURS LATER, and his prepaid phone he was using was turned off. HE. LEFT. THE. COUNTRY. then blocked me on EVERYTHING. Turned out he had a GF he was on rocky grounds with. He messages me a few years later and apologized. Guess he really liked me, and felt bad for meeting someone he liked, at the wrong time. We still talk once in a while, but it turns out, even an English Ryan Gosling can be a major F.B. 🥺 (Also the girl left his ass.)

When I dated (my now ex boyfriend from like a year ago) every single time we meet up, we went to his house and watched a movie. Every time. I am an adventurous person and I don't know, I guess it kinda felt tied down. All I can say was I hated it. I told him that and he didn't listen. So those where my worst date's. I was also a little bit of a push over so I kinda let it slid till the end. Edit: I just remembered, (this is the same person) that one time we decided to hangout we were gonna meet half way between our houses. It was really cold outside, snowing and he was late and I couldn't go home cause my sister dropped me off and I only had one small hoodie, so I was texting him and he replied half an hour later "oh ya I forgot, you can just walk over here if that's okay"... I think by this time I had hypothermia. Yes, I walked over there...

Molly, I loved everything you said in this video about standing up for yourself as a woman - it is SO true that women are often made subordinate in the dating sphere and I didn't learn that until way too late. I also went on a date that was similar to this - clearly a sociopathic man, claimed to have a lot of money, talked about his standards in a woman, made plans for how long we would be together. Also, your makeup is BEAUTIFUL in this video. Your eyeshadow matches your shirt perfectly! Also FYI, I met my husband on OkCupid! It worked out much better for me than tinder (obviously).

@AlexaFaie
@AlexaFaie 4 жыл бұрын
Hope it was a good charity. Most require very specific qualities of hair (like mustn't ever have been heat treated nor used silicone based products) and if its at all damaged just throw it away. The vast majority of hair donations go straight in the bin due to it not being cut correctly (can't just take cuttings from hair cut at a salon - that will get thrown away) and they buy in hair from people who grow it specifically for that purpose (often poor people in poor countries being taken advantage of). Its actually a terrible waste of resources and the process of applying for the wigs for the young people can be incredibly traumatising (you have to send photos in with your application so they can judge if you deserve a wig or not and only pick the most photogenic kids). Its honestly a shit show and exploitative. And then the wigs are only ever subsidised - they generally don't give them away for free. And as kids are still growing, a wig will only last a very short amount of time before it no longer fits and then it can't be given to someone else easily as they are made to fit a specific person and often won't fit many other people at all. Oh and most of the wigs don't even go to cancer patients. Plus the whole thing just reinforces the terrible idea that people need hair to be attractive and need to be attractive to be worth something. And makes it seem like the only way to get a wig is with human hair.

Trying to move the relationship too fast (like the 4 year thing), is a warning sign of abuse. I used to be the same way about dating though. I was so reckless and tbh got myself in some really messed up situations. But thanks to a video by you about not putting my disability out there on my profile I avoid people who may be seeking targets or may have weird fetishes. I also get to know what they’re like naturally before I let them know I’m disabled and see how things change or shift and how they react to it. Honestly it’s helped so much with filtering out the bad ones. Thank you 💖✨⛅️

Good you're sharing this! We couldn't be careful enough Love that you educate us. This reminds me a little bit about Brittani Louise Taylors' story but luckely it didn't go past a first date with this guy
