i like to think that Ken (Gene's best imaginary friend) is based off of how he watches his mom interact with ginger when you think about it Gene is always talking about how he had a call w/ ken, how they email with each other but they never meet in person, its similar to how Linda talkes with ginger, i think that Gene is just emulating what he sees Linda doing but with someone who isn't real, I've been watching bobs burgers for the longest time and is one of my favorite shows, i have a lot of headcannons about the characters lmao

He WAS owed some happiness and that garden plot provided that. Louise knew better. She's not a toddler. By the way: Bob hardly ever deals with angst withinin his household!

I actually have a slightly toned down Linda-Gene relationship with my nephew, and I must say that episode spoke to me. Gene is a child, and kids *want* their parents/ guardians around until a certain time/age. Some kids at this stage won't understand your decisions to spend time away from them, and as they love you they need you to be with them preferably forever! They need to be taught "boundaries", and taught them gradually, in a way that does not damage their self-esteem. It's when we criticize these clingy but essentially good, sensitive kids that they grow up to have attachment issues in adulthood. My point being, not many shows show kids just being kids (with flaws attached - Tina being headstrong, Louise being disrespectful). That's what I love about BB

It's clear Bob doesn't feel valued or respected by his father. There's a reason why Bob's toys were a piece of steel wool, a deformed soap and an old spatula! And that is because Bob didn't get to have a good childhood, or feel valued by his father in his culinary creativity. Bob didn't "hold a petty grudge"; he went low contact with a father who cannot commit to allow Bob to be his own person, without constant interjection on his own preference. It's the reason Bob doesn't feel like he deserves bigger and better things in life; the way he always finds ways to walk away from, or ruin business ventures that will get him success; because Dad influenced the way Bob feels about his own merits.

I hated that Gene decided to take a damn bean bath in cardboard in the basement and then track the beans all inside Big Bob's restaurant serving people. It was horrible and no one seemed to care or notice. I would have snapped on Gene so bad. They would have had to get him out of my sight if I was Linda and get him cleaned up before he had to clean up his mess. It's like she doesn't raise her kids. Louise is out of control. Gene needs to be raised and Tina... Such a sweet pervert and so gullible. Like WTF lol! I just went off topic but I love the show. Lol

I didn’t like the episode where Jimmy Pesto wanted Bob to shave his mustache for jimmy jr to come to the restaurant and Linda and Tina were harassing him about it. It bothered me so bad because Bob worked so hard the entire episode to give Tina the best birthday party he could but she was ungrateful and Linda supported her behaving that way. I was upset for Bob.

I think in that case Tina being 12(i think) at the time, just doesn't understand the principle of things and can't really see how much Bob had done for her already. At that age it's so easy to overlook things adults do. That being said laughed pretty hard at Bob getting home and freaking out a bit before taking a nap under a prep station in the back AND Linda got to drop a few pickles on his face!

Pig Trouble in Little Tina and All That Gene are probably the only 2 episodes in the show I go out of my way to avoid. Wanted to mention regarding the S5E10 where you mentioned how you weren't sure what to take from the episode. This is my take on that episode, there is the conversation Bob has with Louise near the end of the episode where Louise has the clippers and is about to cut Bob's beans he had grown at the garden where Bob says "Louise, please those are my babies" referring to the beans and Louise responds with "What? These? These are your babies?" which results in Bob realizing his mistake and says "Why did I say that to my actual baby?"...That right there in my mind shows how he realized his mistake of unintentionally prioritizing his garden over his own family which again was never his intention since he tries to do everything for his family no matter what his family needs. It's something that happens to all of us where we all have made mistakes of getting caught up in something we may love doing and thus prioritizing our own selfish needs at the moment to satisfy that need, which at the time we reason is the best thing to do, but actually wasn't and we don't come to that realization until later on. Same thing here, Bob finally was able to do something he has wanted to do for much of his adult life and got overly caught up in it and unfortunately was a detriment to his family but he realized his mistake and owned up to it at the end. Again, this is something we all have done in our lives, whether we want to admit to it, recognize it or not is a different story but nonetheless is something we have all done. *Apologies for lengthy post* Lol...Gene is my favorite character for all the things u mentioned 😄

yeah i dont agree with this, bob works so hard to help his family, he bent over backwards for them all the time and all he wants is a zestier. as for those two, they only needed like 3 weeks only three weeks to deal with that kid and that mom but they didnt last one day without fighting, in the end they didnt care about bob they cared about their own self intrests. think about it bob bends over backwards for them and each time those kids are selfish jerks, tina for one called off the party he worked day and night to make happen. how would you feel if you give people everything and the one time you want a little somthing nice they flat out spit in your face?

The undeniably worst episode in my opinion is "Dr. Yap" (S2, E6), with Bob being literally sexually assaulted by Gale & Linda initiating this ugly situation. I am not a Linda hater by any means- I think she is the sauce to Bob's spaghetti. But she does love him, so idk, it did not make sense to me why she'd tell her husband to put up with it. It was just a bad main plot (the B-plot was also lazy). Steven Davis & Kelvin Yu generally wrote some good episodes but this one was just ....not their best work.

My "must avoid" episode is/was "Diarrhea of a Poopy Kid," Season 11, episode 7. Gene was confined to the bathroom, spewing from both ends because he'd eaten old food from the back of the refrigerator. He missed out on Thanksgiving dinner and had to be distracted by Louise's and Tina's "fractured movies."

The only bad episodes are the *Sacred Couch.* That episode was awful. At first, I didn't like the show and that was one of the episodes I watched. Now I adore the show and I still hate that episode. It wasn't heartwarming it was stupid. It was boring. They were being over the top about a piece of furniture of all things. They tried to do the "we like the crappy thing better plot" but it didn't work because it's a dirty couch. The show wouldn't change much if they got a new couch. Makes Linda look like a crazy person, and not in the fun way like Eat, Spray, Linda. None of the jokes are home runs (although I did laugh at the scene where the jester got stuck in the chair), and there’s just not enough solid little jokes to make up for the lack of any killer jokes or a storyline one can get invested in.

I think all of the new episodes kind of suck. They keep trying to make the show more family friendly, so they keep trying to force first grade level moral lessons at the end. This forces them to degrade their characters just to teach them a lesson. The characters come off completely unlikable in the process. Also, did they really feel the need to Gene a crush on his mom or whatevs? Don’t even get me started on how they butchered Teddy’s character.

My least favorite episode is the one with the farmhouse turkey. Bob was OK, and it was kinda cool to see how versatile his cooking skills were based on limited info and resources. Where it went wrong was the whole sidestory about Tina and her stupid tree. The entire time she insisted on doing the tree, but she was pushing it in a really bad way. Tina never gets called out on her behavior. Which is really aggravating. Other solutions like buying lighter fluid, burning homework, etc. were never brought up. Heck, having Bob voluntarily doing this so he could bond with Tina would've made a better story, and show Bob how he was selfish where he realized this was more about him than listening to what Tina wanted to do.

Me too. Those episodes are a lot more fun and creative. Now we get far too many Tina episodes, which are almost never good (and to be fair, have always been the weakest). Louise (who is now just an extremely watered down version of the original character) episodes almost always follow the same predictable formula. There's no more adult humour or situations, the show in general has become very childish. Everything is more laid back and things rarely get chaotic. Everyone is an idiot and the dumber they are, the more they shit on Bob, especially when all he's doing is being intelligent and reasonable. I used to like the attitude Bob has of just letting people do their thing, maybe warning them against it but if they still want to do it then that's fine, it's their life, they'll either learn or prove him wrong and he'd only interfere when things get really bad... but now they've turned that into Bob being someone who just lets everyone shit all over him without even fighting back or defending himself like he used to.

The Family Fracas episode really upsets me. The ending in particular always pisses me off because finally Bob gets a chance to get back at Jimmy for being an ass and then his family doesn't even support him and he gets guilted into helping fix his van and Jimmy STILL mocks him for it. Like, really? Ugh, it's just so irritating. And the worst part is, I want to like it. I want to enjoy this episode because the family being good at a game show is a nice angle, but the whole them only winning the ooze/slime stuff and that ending, I just have a hard time enjoying it.

Top 5 worst episodes in no particular order my opinion) 1: Tammy staying with the Belchers after her parents leave on a cruise without her (annoying as hell) 2: Bob getting into a fender bender with 3 other drivers (uncomfortable) 3: Tiki investor (frustrating) 4: Gene trying to change chunky blast offs (very boring, not an eganging episode) 5: Bob pulling Gayle and Mr. Business through the snow on Thanksgiving (way too much Gayle for me)

I’m a huge, huge Bob’s Burgers fan (we call ourselves Patty Daddies). There’s only two episodes I consider bad and I never rewatch: “Family Fracas” and Mommy Boy.” I find Family Fracas to be too mean spirited and frustrating, and Mommy Boy is just plain creepy. Still though only 2 bad episodes (in my opinion) out of 226, give this show a round of applause!

To me the worst episode to point I dont even watch it because it just isnt cool or funny is the episode where gale sexually herasses bob and Linda allows it to happen and then blames him at the end of the day without even telling gale off (her own sister who is literally trying to get with her husband in which they have literal kids with) it makes no sense to me and it just makes me mad

This episode was a bit to take in, apart from what I thought was the best musical number of the series, this episode really HATED Bob. Although he was being pretty selfish, Bob was right; Not only could Bob make some new Burgers of the Day with the produce he uses from his garden but the argument I was hoping they would use was this: Bob decides to help Louise calm down and while she's still angry, he takes her to the Farmer's Market near the wharf to show her how much money the family AND the restaurant would save. Louise, still probably wouldn't be convinced since Logan is Logan

I really like the special day episodes, Christmas, Valentine's Day, Halloween. Pretty much they are all great but too many of them feels like they're taking over the series. And while I like those episodes the very normal regular days seem to dig a little deeper. So my "worst episodes" are probably s5e18 which was Linda's birthday and all I could think was "what a fifth special day episode this season?" but if I give that a pass then next in line are season 7 episodes 16 and 20 (Easter and Mother's respectively). Six special day episodes in a season just feels a little desperate.

One of my least favorite episodes was the thanksgiving episode where gayle twisted her ankle so bob had to pick her up and drag her through the snow, only for her to reveal that yes she can walk/run fine. And Linda guilts him for being frustrated with gayle?? Like yes those are his in laws and thus family too but Linda should put her own sister in check more

Hamburger Dinner Theater was a great episode but the ending didn't make sense to me. Why didn't they just hire one of their friends to pretend to be the criminal? Like get Teddy or someone to pretend to be the criminal then the Audience not liking the show and saying yah know the spark isn't there and just leaving.

An episode that I didn't like was when the Linda had her Christmas ornaments stolen. I didn't think that she was being a grouch that was her property and even if it was for a "good cause". You shouldn't steal somebody stuff. I feel like sometimes they're not in the wrong but they get treated as if they are..

I’m sorry but the worst one has to be “Easy Com-mercial, Easy Go-mercial” That is the worst one in my opinion. The losses and sadness is too much for me and I think i’ve only watched it twice through on my multiple rewatches of the entire show. i don’t know if it’s just the empath in me that hates it, but it sometimes hurts to watch me see Bob screwed over in such a saddened way, and then his family put so much work into a super fun commercial. and we only get to see the fun one at the end of the episode!

the worst is the bed & breakfast one, linda was just TOO MUCH in that episode. Funny but just a little over the top. A close second worst is where they go to FL to see lindas parents and find out they are swingers. Barf!

I think because you don't have kids you miss the whole point of the episode, as a parent yes you do have responsibility of your children and their upbringing but that doesn't mean you have to give up your 100% free time to them at all times. This was just an episode where Bob was trying to do something that made himself happy after always doing everything for his family and his family just because it inconvenience him had to destroy it. And the whole series it almost comes off as if Bob gives up the most to make everybody happy and nobody does it for him.

It's not about growing vegis for the restaurant, you see what Bob goes thru on a daily.... His restaurant is a high stress environment. So what better than doing sum light weight gardening . He say to the fam grow vegis for the store this is so he can get away doing it.. when all he's doing is sum "Self-care" to get refocused and ground so he can go back and be just a lil destressed. Tht y he was so selfish cuz he was detrimental to do something for himself that benefits everyone in the long run...

I consider a lot of the episodes comfort episodes and if I had to ask for an episode in the show to be made I really want Tina to have a friend who is the new kid at school and as they get closer Tina begins to understand the reality of friendship someone who despite being nice is the polar opposite of Tina but loves Tina's eccentricities all the same and the episode would be called Teen a Dirtbag (based off of the song Teenage Dirtbag) and the new girl is named Noel she's a rich kid who really is a bookworm and loves greek myth as well as being obsessed with owls due to them being the symbol of Athena

I have watched every episode of bobs burgers way more than 5 times. This is the second time I have seen someone hate on this episode and I happen to disagree. I like it. Bob deserves something he has always wanted. He has so little that is just his to make him happy. I don’t like how he handles Logan and his mother but I do think it’s a bit unfair for the family to not suck it up just once for him. It doesn’t have a very satisfying ending but definitely not the worst. If I had to pick my least favourite episodes it would be like a lot of people in the comments saying mommy boy in season 11 or burger boss in season 2.

I think the Bob's family are self centered and ignorant to how dedtrhctive and overly needy they are. Bob gives them all he can and they continuingly undermine hjm and put his and their livelyhood in jeopardy with their moronic stunts. Bob deserved a little happiness in form of a garden and both Linda and Louise should've tried a hell of a lot harder for him.

Where I get confused is if the family was living upstairs for a long time but I think the pilot showed how they had just opened. It showed it took them a while to open but never explained how they stayed a float in the mean time...unless he work at his dad's restaurant or something

i haven't really thought about the show having worst episodes (mostly due to the fact that it's very comforting for me) until recently while rewatching the seasons the bed & breakfast episode in season one was hard for me to watch cause of what louise did to teddy. teddy is one of my favorite characters & so is louise but man she went to far there imo. besides that episode, unfortunately the newest season isn't too exciting either. the episodes aren't memorable & i wish they still kept w/ the (lighthearted??) chaoticness :(

In my opinion the worst episode is Silence of the lambs but with millie as hanibal lector, the fundraiser to go to a water park is called off because mr frond thinks it was one of the kids that mutilated and hung up his support therapy dolls, Louis talks to millie about this and it turns out the teachers were the culprit for buying an expresso machine with different coffee flavors. Also unmemorable mention was Tina goes to horse camp and not rides an actual horse but jericho, and the Halloween episode where millie almost killed the kids with the mechanism of the back of a truck (Jesus Christ.)

My list of worst episodes: (Not saying one is better than the other. All of these are some I tend to avoid watching) -Dr Yap -Sacred Couch (liked the end credits with Bob dancing though) -Bob Rest Ye Merry Gentle-Mannequins. -Family Fracas -Mazel Tina (I do watch this from time to time but I wasn't really into how pushy and rather selfish Tina was) -the episode where Linda embarrasses Tina on a school field trip and is oblivious to it. (Liked the B-plot with Bob’s bachelor party) I love this show as I see it better than other Adult Swim cartoons. Bob’s Burgers just seems to be a show where it’s still good while others (in my opinion) have died a long time ago with some hidden gems. I just feel bad for Bob when he’s the butt of the families jokes and is made fun of when he’s just there or when he’s speaking his mind or opinion.
