Goes to show that Amazon need to quality control their suppliers rather then launch their CEO into space. Great vid though :) never played Cat and Mouth. Looks fun

Haha in fairness, they were good at sorting a refund and ended up not wanting the copies back... BUT yes, definitely could have been avoided 🙈 I'm a big fan of the original game, it's pure fun - would definitely recommend!

Great topic. Don't think I've ever come across a fake board game yet, but I suppose it's just a question of time. Since in all likelihood, forgery will increase along with sales. The name thing was the second thing that struck me, after the difference in size. Suppose it's an easy miss though.

If you stick to places like FLGS or stores that buy direct, hopefully you'll never find them - this was the first one I'd seen, and it was comically bad. Frustratingly, having seen the sales page, it used the legitimate photos, so no way of knowing until it appeared at the door. Mad really, when you think there's nothing for the seller of it to gain - it's utterly unplayable, no one could be fooled into thinking Cat & Mout was a real game!

I noticed this with Terraforming Mars when we'd first got into the hobby. I like that they don't even provide you with a H in mouth 😂

Heh, the title on the box is wrong, too. Instead of “A GAME OF CAT & MOUTH”, it’s “GAME OF CAT & MOUT”.

This is a sad and serious thing. I can't claim to know exactly how it happens but this undermines the poor folk who try to make, write and produce these games; people who are not looking for a get-rich-quick scheme and not hoping to be millionaires, just professionals trying to contribute to a hobby :(

Completely agree - this video is a bit 'I'll laugh because I'll cry otherwise'. The intention was to buy a legitimate game which would offer legitimate funds to all those involved but - they ended up with this. I can only imagine it was somewhere in prototyping that the designs were copied, as it's not a full game, but should never have happened regardless. As I popped in the description, it feels like a lesson in using FLGS - support the store, support the creator, and know you're going to get a legitimate copy!
