Honestly I think Judge and Yujiro should be above Goku on this list. Goku may be irresponsible but he still actually cared about his kids and provided and protected them like a good father would and chose to remain dead for a while so they could have some normalcy in their life. Yujiro actively traumatized both his kids for most of the series, and personally I don’t want my dad pulling up on me when I’m getting laid to “make sure I’m doing it right”. As for judge, he pulled a water down shou tucker and turned his kids into a science experiment, then had them bully the one normal kid he had, imprisoned and exiled that kid, then brought him back to use in a political marriage while threatening him with permanent disfigurement, the loss of his greatest passion in life, and the people he cares for most. Actively f*cking up your child’s life with no positive intentions, love or excuses whatsoever makes them worse in my eyes.

Brondrewd from Made in Abyss should definitely be on this list. Arguably the top spot. He emotionally manipulated his (sort of biological) daughter from birth to love him all so he could yeet her and turn her into a fancy sentient whistle (makes more sense in the show). He also experimented on and mutated multiple orphans he adopted into weird fleshy creature ) (who all were technically his children too). Of every single child he had, only one survived somewhat "intact", one of the orphans he adopted (Nanachi) and that was by pure luck. Nanachi had to witness and see her adoptive orphan sister be mutated,suffer in that form and later die in front of her. He also forced Nanachi to then help him with his future experiments until she ran away, but he has trackers on her so he can always see where she is and every single thing she does at any given point. Nanachi's adoptive siblings also became immortal breathing hunks of flesh that can't die from any normal weapon and are basically just suffering inside a flesh husk of a body with their human minds intact. These are all young kids. Look up the scene with Nanachi and Mitty in test tubes....it's heartbreaking. Browdrewd also ripped off Reg's arm (not his kid), but a child nonetheless.

Hate to be that guy but his goal wasn't to turn her into a white whistle. It was for her to bare Bondrewds curse of the abyss aswel as her own when ascending from 5th to 4th level of abyss so he could attain "the gift" and become a narehate like Nanachi. As love is what allows the processe to happen as seen with Nanachi and Mitty. Prushka turned into a white whistle because she was willing to sacrifice herself for Riko. Also Bondrewd already had his own white whistle at this point.

People keep comparing Shou Tucker and Bondrewd but one of these things is not like the other. Shukaku wasn't the most violent or dangerous of the tailed beasts naturally before being sealed inside of Gaara. It was centuries of being treated as a monster by humans and having Kurama bad mouth it as a reference to Kitsune and Tanuki folklore that pissed it off. You should honestly look into a manga called Tougen Anki, it's got about 160 chapters as of writing this. One of the co-protagonists, Jin Kougasaki, his father (hayate momoido) found out his wife, daughter and son weren't of his own race (they were oni, he was a momotarou) and killed both his wife and daughter and extremely badly scarred his son trying to kill him. This happens because those who are oni don't know they are oni until they manifest horns, which could be as soon as they're born to moments before dying of old age. But it can't be detected beforehand, so to everyone including themselves, they are completely human, once the horns manifest, it changes their constitution, which then allows them to be classed as oni. It's a good read and reckon you should talk about it on here sometime.

Imo trade out Goku with Vegeta. At least he was shown to care about Gohan and Chi-Chi when he was with him, understood that the Earth needed someone stronger than him to protect it, and that he needed to stay dead since all of the villains were after him. Vegeta (in future Trunks’ bad timeline) ditched both him and Bulma, didn’t train him at all even in the present, and didn’t even recognize him when they first met. Goku might’ve given Cell a Senzu Bean, but who allowed Cell to transform into his perfect form?

I know Avatar isn't an anime but I didn't expect going out of the video like yeah so Ozai's the worst of them. He could have improved the lives of his children by leaving them alone but he said no I want to fuck them up myself. Tl;dr What if Ging is letting Gon live his own life so he can live vicariously through the stories about him? I *feel* like Ging may have wanted Gon to go to Kite if he brought a friend along because bringing a friend means Gon is different from Ging on a fundamental level, so he wants him to go to Kite so his training can continue and he wants to see how well Gon will grow without his influence. Whereas if Gon goes directly to Ging by himself, it likely means Gon is a hedonistic loner like Ging was regardless of whether he's around, so he may as well see the kid anyway since his life is going to follow a lot of the same story beats his did. In any case, if Gon ever met Ging, it's pretty obvious he didn't plan on going "Ah, you're here, time to be a dad! And also let's go explore the most dangerous part of the world together!" It would've been more like reading someone's diary and then handing it back to them and leaving, like what happened on the World Tree. Ging has been keeping tabs on Gon, as we hear him all but say out loud during the Election Arc, so it's possible he's letting his son run around and become his own person so he can observe him from outside as kind of a "What could have been" I've never read any theories about HxH, in fact the "Ging got pregananant, gave birth, and was Gon when the smoke cleared" thing hit me like a water balloon full of pistachio pudding. But that's just my take on it.

On top of not being there he also actively traumatizes his kids, killing bakis mom in front of him and beating his ass every step of the way.
