I feel like YOU should have titled that the video BEFORE posting it with that title, most people don't bother with reading the description. with that title, people are going to assume that you have your opinion be fact 100% for that title. do I assume you put a disclaimer at least, my only gripe with the video is the fact that you put it higher than multiversus , an actual P2W slop game, at least brothership comes in a full game & doesn't need you to literally buy bros moves for real money just to get it , let alone a feature that was clearly not a bug, be counted as such by devs to damage control.

Not really. I believe a lot of the fanbase is riding the high of simply getting a new Mario & Luigi game. Give it time - folks in the fanbase will look back in a handful of years and start saying "You know, Brothership wasn't really great." It happens in every video game community.

Have to say you were 100% accurate with this list, even if Mario and Luigi was included as its one of my favorite non-pokemon rpg games, but I say Concord was the biggest failure of 2024 as we are getting oversaturated with FPS type games like CoD and even Fortnite. Also No. 1 place makes a lot of sense due to a previous video about how videogames are now focusing more on storytelling and visuals, turning them into click-based games and lack of fun. Super Mario Bros. Wonder has the same gameplay style as previous games but it took patience and at the end it became one of the best games since SMW because the developers understood that players wanted fun game where they can come back anytime and enjoy the videogames they love playing, not being focused on the “story”. I enjoy your videos as they are comprehensive and speak the truth without hising anything, and hope you can make more content. Happy early 2025 and my best wishes for your future projects.

Brothership being on the list is a major hot take to say the least. The game isn't perfect by any means, and I do get where you're coming from with backtracking. But worst game of 2024 material? Yeah, gonna have to disagree with that hard. I would NOT go as far as to call it the best game in the series, but I honestly having a really good time with it. Also, you're not required to use Luigi logic on bosses to win. If you're taking the time to battle enemies and level up normally and pull off successful Bros. Attacks you can win even without using Luigi logic. Luigi logic does make battles a lot easier though.

I'm nearing the end of Brothership and I kinda agree with what he said, the first 15 hours or so could be easily condensed into 6-10 hours if they tried, most of the side quests are essentially fetch quests, and it doesn't really respect your time at all. Another more personal thing is the story progression. When I first saw the trailers I was really worried about this; I really dislike the hubworld type system, they did it in Partners in Time as well, and it really breaks up the adventure. Dream Team, BiS, SS and even PJ got the feeling of an actual adventure across this world as you did what the story wanted you to do. PiT and BS instead sent you out for missions and then brought you back to the same hubworld, but atleast in PiT it felt like there was more of a story reason beyond 'because you need to do it to unlock this artificial plot gate', so it feels like I'm doing a bunch of side quests before I can continue the main plot - atleast that's what the first 15 hours feels like - until, at the 3rd sea the individual islands start connecting their stories to eachother, when there's only 5 new islands left out of the like 20 - which then after they get you backtracking so god damn hard. I don't like the story progression of the first 15 hrs and the way it does progress is really bad. On the otherhand, the gameplay. I'm yet to get used to menuing with A for Luigi, and is it just me, or are the dodging and counteracting buttons really laggy? It takes a few frames for Mario or Luigi to jump, or swing their hammer. There's also visual glitches, like the camera bugging out and enemies teleporting when they finish their attack. The game in general has just been REALLY disappointing to me, this game was way too ambitious for a first try, and it shows.

@@bencritterson640 "Listen to you fanbase" Dumbest advice ever, kneeling to what your "fanbase" wants of your opinion is the absolute dumbest thing you can do. You just get an echo chamber of idiots that are angry any time you do anything different. If you're angry about it, you're NOT part of the "fan base". This is universal. Hell, I just found this video randomly so I don't even know what this guy makes and I think getting angry over someone having a different opinion on a video game is actual mental illness. When it's all in good fun? Great. But this ain't it.

Bowser's Inside Story better than Super Mario RPG is actual insanity. Good, even great? Yes. Better than RPG? Crazy. Haven't played a single game on this list, so this was the only hot take I saw on here.

I just didn't enjoy SMRPG as much as other people did. I had fun, it has some charm, and I thought the difficulty was just right. I see why people really love it. For me, though, Bowser's Inside Story was immaculate in so many ways. I might actually make a video on it in the future.

While I was not expecting Hellblade 2 on here, I agree with you. The first Hellblade became one of my favorite games. Once I heard they were working on the 2nd one I watched for updates up until the release. I was so disappointed. I loved “watching” the game since it was more cinematic than an actual game. But it just left a sour taste in my mouth when it ended and my initial thought was wow how… underwhelming. Played it and beat it once and have no interest playing again. The original Hellblade though, I played at least 4 times all the way through. So yea sadly I have to agree.
@spectrebull17 күн бұрын
I wasn't either to be perfectly honest, but when I really started to think about games that were frustrating, boring, and regressive, Hellblade 2 came up every time. I find it is really contributing to a major problem in the video game space, which I sort of touched on back in a video back in May.

i mean mario and luigi brothership was worked on by a new company they were new to the mario and luigi franchise so of course they wouldnt know about the critisims of the past games
@spectrebull19 күн бұрын
If they didn't know about past games, then R&D didn't do their due diligence. I simply don't believe they didn't look at previous games to see what did and didn't work. If anything, I'm more inclined to believe they probably tried to grab a piece of each game (in terms of concepts) and wound up repeating mistakes unintentionally.
