I dunno. I feel like Cassie might be the worst, because not only did she sleep her best friend's ex, but it was her best friend's ABUSIVE ex. Granted Maddie defended Nate when he put his hands on her. But everyone knew it was really Nate. I could never forgive a friend for doing that to me, knowing how they've treated me in the past.
@No-nt3vjАй бұрын
Cassie was really bad for it especially like you said it was her best friends ABUSIVE ex, but Cassie is still a teen and for her based on her own trauma having attention from guys even those that are bad is what she craves so she definitely needs a reality check and therapy
@lithium4246Ай бұрын
As much as I think what she did was despicable, I would argue that because he is abusive, she fell for it even more because abusive men are usually more manipulative, she felt like she knew him and then when they started doing something together that she knew him better than Maddie ever did, that’s a recurrent mindset of the next woman with abusive men it’s like ok that happened to you, but it won’t happen to me because I’m different very main character syndrome

The issue is that the shows always glorify the cheating and never show the consequences. ESPECIALLY if the cheater is the MC. And if they show show the consequences, they almost always lowkey get glorified too, in an “oh we are so hurt and now we can’t be together my star-crossed lover 😩” manner And if real life situations, like the Ariana-Ethan scandal, is anything to go by, IRL not-girl girls will still be defended and glorified too
@uniraffesaurАй бұрын
The number of times a romantic partner exists solely as an obstacle between the two romantic leads getting together 💀 And the other partner is always vilified for not being as perfect a match for the love interest as the main character regardless of if they’re actually a villain or not. And it’s always framed in a way that we’re meant to cheer when the two leads finally get together (often before the other partner has been left), and the other partner getting dumped for the main character is just like “🤷🏻♀️ sucks to suck, glad they’re out of the way”. And HOW OFTEN does this moment happen when the love interest and other partner are getting engaged or about to get married, and so the love interest calls off their engagement/wedding for the main character?? And we’re not supposed to feel for this other partner who was left just before their wedding for another person?? The Jim/Pam/Karen triangle is such a good example of this. People HATED Karen and treated her like the villain for coming between Jim and Pam, when really, Karen was literally just trying to have a healthy relationship with a man who was using her to run away from his feelings for a woman who rejected him. Karen did nothing wrong. Jim dragged her along and Pam was happy to wedge herself in there.
@CiaLaViragoАй бұрын
Referring to the IRL Ariana/Ethan scandal, i disagree: they have both received a lot of backlash. The reason why there's still people defending them (especially Ariana) it's because on one hand they're not random people, they're celebrities with a fanbase, mostly made up of very young people. On the other hand, Ariana Grande has recently completely rebranded her image as the epitome of delicate, vulnerable femininity that's just a victim of the media. This rebrand was incredibly effective, because now, instead of appearing as a shameless sex kitten, she is this tragic princess in the throes of the whims of love, who couldn't help but to feel the way she felt for Ethan. So yeah, she's being excused a lot, but that's because she's an exception, not the rule.

You do not let your friends pass out in a room by themselves and if they're drunk you take them home so somebody won't take advantage of them. I do also feel some kind of sympathie for Cassie. What she did is absolutely shitty, but Cassie is in dire need of therapy, she pretty much uses Nate to hurt herself and SHE NEEDS HELP. I'm definitely on Maddie's side, but I do feel terrible for Cassie. Blake and Emily are absolutely disgusting and the fact that they face barely any consequence for being like this is annoyiiiing.
