One of my favorite things about this adaptation is the rule zero. Often times on youtube, you'll see people be dishonest leading to some very uneven games. The conversation regarding "worst possible thing that can happen in a deck" really puts into perspective what to anticipate. BRING MORE PAPER MAGIC!!! Great series so far
@daftwulli61452 жыл бұрын
I think the actual probelm is more the unpredictability of commander due to it having 99 different cards in the deck. Some games you will go off and do amazing things you did not even realize your deck can do, and some games you will do jack shit
@brodericksiz6254 ай бұрын
@@daftwulli6145 That's honestly what I think is great about commander. I love tcgs, but the one thing that always made me feel disappointed about them is how, for all the variety of effects and cool flavour decks you could make, in most formats you're just going to build what's most mathematically effective, not necessarily what's most fun and definitely not the coolest flavour, and usually only a handful of decks fit that mould. Commander having 99 different cards in deck and operating with a different mentality compared with other formats makes it so that you will see wild things happen, and cool decks that aren't necessarily the best most optimal thing you could be doing. This means that some of the time you don't get to do much, but I think that that's just a price for having a much more fun format than most competitive formats

The first time Blake built a deck for someone else (on this channel) was MTG NerdGirl's "vampire" deck. This time, we had Shea's "dinosaur" deck... Ladies and gentlemen, I believe we have finally found the person who made MTG Arena's *completely fair and balanced* shuffler. Jokes aside, this was a really fun game to watch with every turn bringing in a new twist. Looking forward to more commander content on the channel!

1:08:56 Blake doing some accidental errors over there. I didn't notice 6 life lost from Meathook and he uptaps creatures after gaining control of them (not that either of these mattered). One of the fun parts of watching Commander contents is all the little things the players miss along the way. Always make sure your opponents lose the appropriate amount of life though! It's up to the person who is causing that damage / life loss to make sure no counts are lost.

Oh to Ixalan we rowed our boats across the vicious sea. For Beckett Brass we came to shore with swords and lots of mead. We came to find sea-faring folk with fins and lot of teeth. To a city of gold, that we were told, we marched past their bodies. Then an awful cry erupted from a man we couldn't see. There stood behind an awful sight, a man we called ole jimmy. His pegged leg was in the mouth of a large and fearsome beast. The monster was a massive foe, he stood but three men high. The admiral cleaved its head off with a fearsome, vengeful cry. For glory and gold the troupe went on looking far and wide. Oh are ye a pirate if your not a man of pride. Swashbuckling through the jungle, we dared not to hide. Through Ixalan, a dangerous place, we toil and we ride!

I don't get why you call this the worst possible commander show. I'm all into commander shows, and this is easily one of the best. I especially like the intro, talking about the worst things decks do, and the favourite card at the end. The gameplay itself is AWESOME, and I adore each player - man I wish I had this sort of game group. The music gets repetitive, but it's ok, sometimes the mikes turn evil and it's hard to hear people, but I'm still having an amazing time every episode. Don't change anything about the show, but the self-shaming title.

CGB this show is awesome. Love the interactions between all of you. Bit of a late comment but Sidisi doesn't work the way she's played at 37:45 - Ben mills two creatures and makes two zombies but he should only make one. Sidisi's trigger happens when 'one or more' creatures are put into the graveyard from the library, and she only makes one zombie for this trigger regardless of how many creatures are put in at once. As long as the mill is done in one go, even if you mill your whole library Sidisi only makes one zombie. Just so you know! Great game, really enjoyed it.
