the hook has no rng? its a projectile and the hook animation is not tied to the projectile. the hooks hit box is narrow but tall hence you can throw it above someone and pull them towards you. Source: roadhog main

Kodie Russell i used to be liked that, but somehow get the feel of using his hook as hanzo where you predict where the target is moving, not on his current location. it improved my gameplay by a mile then. trust and aim confidently.

This is how it works, what people utterly fail to grasp is that even in a "low lag" game there can be as much as a tenth of a second different between what he sees on his screen and what you do. It's the same reason you sometimes get hit by shots that 'miss' or 'die behind cover'. It can never be entirely eliminated in any setting outside a lan and though the instances it produces notably odd results are quite rare when you're running basically tens of millions of 'simulations' a day, you're going to produce plenty of outliers.

Suggestion for Blizzard, if at any point the chain has to go through a wall or if Roadhog loses line-of-sight on his hooked target (whichever is easier to code I guess), he loses the hook. That way Roadhog can continue to be a tank-killer who is also a tank (for some reason) and have a free-kill ability that recharges in just 6 seconds that at least WORKS AS INTENDED

Roadhog's hooks have a ludicrous vertical hitbox. But otherwise a lot of these are easily explaimed. They have momentum when they are hit, and end up behind a wall. The game then tries to get them to Roadhog in what the game considers the best way.

Hook story time: So one time I was playing in Volskaya and my team was pushing the first point. Our Rein ults and hits the enemy Lucio and D.Va. At that moment, I (the Roadhog) hook D.Va, thinking he'd focus the Lucio. Instead he pins the D.Va as she gets hit by the hook, and slams her against the pipes in the back of the point. Her mech breaks, and she activates her self-destruct... while still attached to my hook.
