Calling Ground Scaravich's theme a banger while calling Gate's Theme the worst should be considered a War Crime. Im sorry but Ground Scaravich theme sounds like someone was smashing their head on a keyboard and that theme was it's result, it's just so bad in an otherwise fantastic soundtrack.

I agree that Launch Octopus’ theme is underrated Thinking Double’s theme is the worst is crazy to me though I listened to the X7 soundtrack recently and the only part I remember about Wind Crowrang’s theme is the awkward drumline section in the middle

I like Gate's battle theme, it says a lot about Gate as a character. Too much of a hothead for his own good, structured to a fault, ready to burn himself for vengeance. Too bad X6 was so undercooked (anybody likes the zero manoeuver bounded to the up key that makes him plunge down?) that it ended up wasting its excellent soundtrack (but I love the game all the same).

Ranking whichever song here as the worst is like picking your worst child. However, I only have one song from the series that I utterly LOATHE, and that's Blizzard Buffalo... The melody sounds like a mutated organ mixed with a broken music box or those wiggling bats you see for Halloween decorations. It's nowhere near as relaxing. It's nightmare fuel, and it doesn't fit at all with the rest of the rocky soundtrack that the games were designed for.

WARNING!! WARNING!!! ANGRY SUBSCRIBER COMMENT INCOMING: How DARE YOU like X5's Zero 2 theme the least out of that game. And then compare it to royalty free club music. That song is an epic banger to me and I unashamedly listen to it on my ipod ear buds in public all the time and even when driving to work. It's certainly better than Skiver, Mattrex, Izzy Glow and Volt Kraken IMHO. And I like Magma Dragon's tune a whole too. Doubles does suck kinda, though.....sooo good going with that one, I guess.

Here my least favorite BGM in every MMX: 1: Sigma stage 3 - this one is funky and somewhat scary. 2: Weather Stage/ Dessert Highway; the least best in any franchise 3: Neon Jungle/ Hornet Arsenal 4: Volcano/ Sigma first form - too lousy 5: Shadow evil theme is too depressing! Overall it has the best music series after MMX1!

In X Armadillo's theme is the worst. Reminds me too much of that blue spaz in that Sega game. X2, Bubble Crab is my most unliked theme. I blame Duff Mcwhalen for that. X3, Neon Tigerd is the weakest in the lot. It sounds too mellow for what the boss is. X4, Cyber Peacock's theme takes me to a bad place, man,haha! X5, Duff McWhalen. X6, Metal Shark Player's theme gives me ptsd, so that one's a no go. X7, possibly the worst soundtrack in an X game to date. It's difficult picking a bad one, so dealers choice! X8, Gigabolt Manowar is my least favorite. Also my most disliked level.

Zero Stage 2 in X5 is absolutely one of the best songs, especially at the minute mark when the song shifts, the song is a reference to classic mega man with Quickman's stage .

BTW Optic Sunfloward has two themes. The one before you enter the "training segments" which soudns very "who wants to be a millionaire" like and the one inside the training segments that are as you described upbeat and feel like some kinda test being done, fitting for the overall theme of his stage motiv (even tho the level itself could have used more puzzle elements imo instead of bottomless pits or too many spikes). Which of the two Dark Mantis themes did you talk about? The ambient one where you sneak around his stage or the one which appears when you trigger the alarm? I personally like the atmo track and use Dark/Black Zero for this alongside Axl to "fit the theme" but I can understand that for an action platformer it's too moody. The alarm thing is alright, it loops too fast but then again the alarm segment lasts at best fopr like 10 seconds, if even! xD What do you think aobut the Armor Chaser Theme present in Bamboo Pandamonium's level? Because it counts as a seperate theme also. Did.. did you forget to mention the 2nd phase bsos theme which is unqiue to this game? The one where the Maverick's use their desperation attack depending on your difficulty setting where they either don't use it at all (easy), use it at 25% HP left and ready to get swooped by the team attack (nromal) or at 50% where they will use it again after a certain amount of time has passed (hard mode). It appears you have skipped the "Devil Sigma encounter" theme which plays when you talk to Sigma in his "throne room" that has quite an ambient vibe to it that I thought you lay appreciate! I mean you mentioned having the "Vile/Vava captures Lumine theme" as the worst for MMX8/least appreciated but.. you skipped over Vile's/Vava's Boss Theme in this game which you hear at least once per playthrough depending on your order on how you get through the levels. Would have liked to know if it's a banger for you too also because it's a remix of his MMX1 boss theme afaik xD

While I do like Launch Octopus' theme, I feel like it's the weakest of the X1 Maverick themes. I just don't feel like it does anything interesting melodically. However, I do like how "blunt" it sounds. I don't really have any other way to put it, just like you I know nothing about music theory. Glad to see a fellow X3 enjoyer, and, on top of that, someone who loves Gravity Beetle's theme as much as I do, although in my case, it is actually my favorite song in the game! I'll definitely check out your best songs list later. Also, I'm incredibly biased for this as I really enjoy boomer rock, but I like Neon Tiger's theme a lot as I love the song it references. In general I feel like X3's soundtrack does manage to distinguish itself from the rest as it sounds really... grungy. I feel like if these soundtracks were people, X3's OST would be that one tough-looking teenager who listens to heavy stuff. Asides from the already mentioned Tiger, I think Toxic Seahorse and Vile do an amazing job at showcasing this. Doppler's fight theme has a lot of potential, but I feel like the heavy instruments don't work well with the incredibly short loop. Usually when listening to short-looping songs I prefer much lighter instrumentation. His stage themes though? Absolute bangers. I ADORE the sheer energy Doppler Stage 1 has. By the way, I could never put my finger on it, but now that you mention it, Light's X3 theme does sound a bit... eerie and sad. It's always made me a bit uncomfortable, it's nice to see I'm not the only one. X's Sky Lagoon theme is one I listen to very regularly, to me it kinda just stuck as X's theme. Slash Beast's is also a big favorite of mine, I have no idea what the genre is called but I love that 80s-esque sound so much. Stingray and Walrus' themes remind me A LOT of Ace Attorney, part of Stingray's song is the exact same as the theme of a character from Spirit of Justice which makes it pretty memorable to me. Walrus on the other hand makes me think of Apollo Justice! X5's Boss Theme is the only Mega Man boss theme I actually listen regularly to. I just like how unique it sounds, it sounds very desperate and grim. Shining Firefly (don't worry, I won't point a gun at you for using the localized names, I just prefer the JP ones personally) is one of my favorites, mostly because I love the heavy, blunt sounds it has. It feels like the song is constantly stomping and showing off its might. Both of Tidal Whale's themes are amazing to me. Not only is Bubble Crab's theme my favorite song from X2 instantly making Tidal Whale have a great song from the getgo, but the beta theme sounds amazing to me and whenever I feel like listening to one of them, I always end up listening to the other one as well. Anyway, sorry for the overly long comment. I could write even more about the other games, but didn't wanna make it too unreadable. I just have a hard time holding back on the walls of text when it comes to talking about music, specially if it's music from games I love.

X7's Stage Select and Boss Battle themes would be my favorites if X5 didn't exist. X7 did a lot of things wrong, but it did have some good, kind of wish they could have made 3D work, I find X8 to be very average (more like second or third worst), and that holds it back a lot, it's not so bad that you remember it, but it's also not so good that you remember it..

These are my choices. X1: The credits theme. (Not the molonogue with X on the cliff.) X2: Magna Centipede X3: Doppler Stage 2 X4: All of them except Storm Owl and the Spaceport theme. X5: All of them, they are kinda generic. X6: Ground Scaravich. pain. X7: All of this soundtrack is a complete earrape. Only code crush is decent. X8: This is kinda hard, but maybe Optic Sunflower stage is my least favorite.

As much as I love x3, the main problem with the game is how rushed the game is. This is why all the songs are like 15second disappointing loops. The game itself also had many awesome ideas I loved but it doesn't change the fact that team could've used for 3-6 months more to actually finish the game.
