I really, really, really dig clone rifles! The only suppressor I have from this lineup is the AEM5 for a MK12 mod1. I love this suppressor. It's old and heavy, but sounds great! I was going to build a SEAL recce, but instead I built a mod Holland. I have a not so clone correct MK18 mod1 (DDMK18 upper w/ KAC lower) that im waiting on a SF RC2 can now. I'm 347 days in so it can't be much longer 🙄 nice to see someone that puts as much effort as you into cloning. My buddy's just don't get it! Thanks for sharing your hardware IR! Looking forward to the next video. 👍

Does the Allen or Otter Creek can actually work well for the Mk12 compared to putting somebody else's can on it? I have a Mk12 and I'm undecided on what to do for a can. I have a PRI Mk12 Mod 0 and I'm not sure if I should use the suppressor mount on it or swap it for someone else's adaptor or just get one DT to the barrel. And input would be appreciated.

I’m wondering the same thing
@zdub84382 жыл бұрын
That depends entirely on what you want to get out of it and what guns you want to suppress now and potentially in the future. For handguns your main focus should be the booster and overall weight. A lot of boosters have rubber o-rings so you won't be able to dump lots of rounds and cook the can if you get a pistol can. This is a great avenue to explore wipes and running wet since you don't want to shoot high volume through a boosted can in the first place. For .308 or more you want internal volume and a good pressure rating. For subguns you want a simple welded direct thread can since it will run clean and full auto rated so you can abuse it without worry. Basically you are looking for the opposite of a pistol can. You want maximum performance with a pistol can. For a subgun/pcc can you want something simple and tough that can take a few thousand rounds in a range trip. If you ain't a tactical Timmy, ignore all the tri-lug stuff. It's quick to attach but I've seen too many issues. If you accidentally crank it down 3/16ths instead of a quarter turn, you can destroy the can. Same thing if you get a booster filthy with a high round count and it doesn't pull its self back. You could be out of alignment and get a baffle strike. For intermediate rifles performance will suck. So it's better to get a dedicated 7.62 can OR a dedicated .556 can to maximize performance. You will still need earpro. Hearing safe ak's and m4's is marketing wank. For .22 cans, they all work great. Just get whatever is easiest to clean since it's a filthy round. Do not shoot .22 through a non serviceable can. Once you switch the can back to a real caliber, it will blow all the chunks of lead out from the .22 rounds and can cause a baffle strike with all the filth and the bullet trying to come out at once. That's why it's best to just get a dedicated .22 can and not try to run .22 through a bigger can even though it fits and is under the pressure rating. If you get a q erector 9 or a dead air Odessa that you can full clean then you can ignore that and run .22 all day through it so long as you clean after.

Correct; sound suppression should be almost identical between the two though. If anything, the direct thread can should be quieter due to it being slightly longer.
@AJPPP2 жыл бұрын
@@InferiorRifles well not quite identical. your picture shows at @13:25 where the SRD762Ti-QD baffle stack is a little shorter than the SRD762TI stack. So the non QD would be substantially quieter, allowing for diminishing returns.
@InferiorRifles2 жыл бұрын
@@AJPPP right, “Almost” identical. Considering how close the performance of the (much smaller) SRD762 and SRD762-QD suppressors are to the SRD762Ti, I think it’s fair to say that the extra couple of baffles it has over the SRD762Ti-QD will make minimal difference

Suppressor collecting is throwing away money…there is no resale market for them due to the stamps…lets say you spent $1k on each of those…you could have purchased a transferable mac10… I bought three suppressors, a hybrid 46m, a hybrid 36m and an OCL polonium…and they run well on the over 200 firearms i own… I got the can bug…but after my second purchase i realized it was literally throwing money away… They literally have no value once it goes form 4…very few “collector” cans…if the nfa ever delists suppressors, then there will be a used can market. You rattled off a few “collector” cans…i disagree…try selling them…im talking private sale, form 4…regular person
@InferiorRifles7 ай бұрын
I’ve sold several. My KAC MK11 Suppressor sold for 3,000 on Gunbroker after I paid 1400 for it new. NT4’s like mine are currently selling for 2500+ (not simply being listed, but actually selling for). Simply transfer to a dealer on a Form 4 (usually takes less than a month) and then sell it on a Form 3. Though I’m not sure where in the video I said that the point of collecting cans was for profit? I bought these with the intent to use them, not to flip. By the way, if you’d rather have a lame Mac10 instead of 10 suppressors then your priorities are weird. Just saying.
@TheAcenightcreeper7 ай бұрын
@@InferiorRifles i called out specifically the KaC suppressors, because they are driven by delusional idiots who need to look like silent snake and play meal team 6. Im not bashing your collection…i think if you buy certain, very specific suppressors…like anything, they could hold value… 99.9999% of other suppressors have no resale market due to tax stamps on both ends…so they lose all value once on a form 4…99.9999% Where as, a transferable mg has a market, far more rare and appreciate much more quickly. My point is, there are far better things to invest in the nfa world then building a large collection of suppressors which all do the same thing to the point we need finely tuned machines to detect the differences for us… If you also have infinite disposable income, buy as many cans as you want…more power to you. I choose to put my money in things that hold their value…a rugged obsidian 9 isnt going to be worth $3k, ever…a silencerco hybrid46 isnt suddenly going to become rare… You have a few rare cans that hold value because there is a small market behind it…but you cant seriously disagree that 99.99% of cans immediately lose their value once picked up. Would you buy my hybrid46 m for $600? Oh wait, ive got to pay $200 to transfer, and you gotta pay $200 to buy it…so do i cover both stamps and make $200? Or do you pay $800 for a used hybrid46?
