I read the manga and the art for the insects is really good. I mainly read it cause the mc carries this series so hard and almost every character tries to fumble the bag so hard it's not even funny. The worst part about this is that the manga could've been good... if every other fucking character in it wasn't either lethally-stupid, an abhorrent piece of shit, a goddamn rapist, or some unholy mixture of all three. Genuinely, if this was just a story about Mutsumi surviving until help arrived while utilizing her knowledge of insects to fight back, this would've been really good. *Fun Fact:* Mutsumi's mentor and the one who taught her about bugs was Enoki Inaho, the main character of the author's previous manga, _Vector Case Files._

While everyone else was in creative mode (macgyver some machine, racing across the island gathering supplies, or getting kidnapped & held hostage for hard earned supplies.), the primary character being taken a majority of the time; main girl's friend. before hiatus, the group finally hit the mainland got screened for injuries but nothing else. so, yeah, unless miraculously everyone was in a "safe period" for the "estimated" month they were either running around, relieving stress by doing the googlies, or bartering some frisky for supplies someone in the group is gonna be making an announcement in the future. but then the manga has been on hiatus for nearly a year now. so it's only a theory.

I read the manga to this first before seeing the movie. Now at first you would begin to like for the death scenes, gore and other stuffs until like some of the plot like the 2 bitches betraying everyone for example begins to make no sense, but only some plots. Most of the characters development are super trash but atleast the redhead girl redeem herself at the end until you get to the sequel part of the manga on a new island. Then everything from there the plot became mad stupid, they added more fan services obviously sex scenes, characters development were still trash, and the pink hair girl never died. So in the end you'll start to hate the manga and the whole series. And they should've just made it into a hentai if they writers want to be excusable for all the dumbest plot and fan service.

I was reading this manga all the way up to the part where most of them managed to escape the Island only to find out the insects have already made it to mainland Japan. Every single character in this shit were straight up dumb, evil or horny just for the sake of suspension of disbelief. When I saw the trailer of this manga being adapted into an anime for real, I was willing to give it a try but the moment I saw the bugs being CGI, It was game over for me. If you're one of those people who likes B rated horror flicks then the manga might be suitable for you, just don't expect this series to be a hidden gem. And also, just skip the anime entirely. It barely even scratched a quarter of the manga's contents.
