That’s why Stephan A ran from the numbers and said... “but look how many memorable moments...” Hell, Tim Duncan (similar demeanor as Kawhai) had some great buzzer beaters, but Kobe is far more flashy and marketable, so I get it.

People have such a difficult time properly rating Kobe. He is anywhere between the 5th and the 10th best player ever. He is not in the goat discussion and he is not outside of the top ten. Since his death his career has been totally polarized. People will try to say he's better than LeBron and others will say "He's no Dwyane Wade.... He's no Kawhi Leonard". Be reasonable if you look at stats, watch his highlights, hear the stories, see the outcome and put in some context you'll find Kobe somewhere towards the end of a top ten.
@khaitranngoc4176

I think the polarization of Kobe has begun some time between his retirement and his death. What you see right now is not too dissimilar to what I have read in 2017. He is either the most or the second most polarizing GOAT candidate behind Wilt. So many different aspects to consider... For once, a sensible take on Kobe for you among a barrage of extreme Kobe take on both end (kid you not, genuinely heard someone goes to extreme length to protect why he has a retired Kobe Bryant as the #33 players of all time, needless to say, it was shit), refreshing for once to hear sone sense...

@@khaitranngoc4176 definitely started after his retirement. I even heard some bullshit around 2015 wasn’t watching basketball religiously then though. My feeling is the overrating of Kobe began to spread after his death (understandable given the aggrandizement afforded to the dead). Why his legacy is as controversial as it is is a It might have been his injury being the last memory in our heads compiled with his last game being so perfect. Like you saw one of Kobe’s best seasons then an injury leading to him being legit a negative NBA player then him being the greatest player on earth for 48 minutes then never seeing him hoop again. Certainly understandable where the narrative whiplash can come from just unfortunate it persists.

Clutch shots are defined as: "Shots in the last 5 minutes of a game, when any teams lead isnt higher then 5 points." I dont get the confusion what clutch means... If player A shoots a 3 with 3 minutes left and his team is up 3 points, thats a clutch shot per definition. If player B fom the other team misses a 3 in the next posession... that is NOT a clutch shot, cause his team was down 6... easy as that. And looking at the stats... Kobe wasnt that good in those situations... He shot well below average, while taking the most shots possible. So no matter if tripple teamed with 2 guys open under the basket, Kobe would take the 3... and most likely brick it! (he shot well under 30% from 3 in those situations) Lebron for example takes a different aproach. He makes the right decision. No matter if it is him taking the shot, or passing to a wide open 45% C&S 3P shooter in the corner while being tripple teamed. THATS way more clutch in my opinion. Just think of the Kobe to Shaq alley oop in the 2000 WCF game 7... one of the most iconic images from that Lakers era... why? Cause everybody was shocked that Kope passed the ball. Even back then. When did he ever do something like that AFTER Shaq left the Lakers?

Ray and KG were traded for, either way that’s still the first Bonafide Superteam where Stars in their Prime came together. This casual fan idea that any team formed Via Trade isn’t a Superteam is absolute shit🤡. A Superteam drafted and grown, traded, or signed is a Superteam regardless. Yes, kawhi had a really good team, which is why it's impressive that he had more finals MVP's at his age than Kobe, and Kobe was in the league at 18 and won 3 titles by the same age as kawhi, with no finals MVPs. Kawhi got his first one playing on a loaded SAS team, then got one after leading TOR to a win over GS with pascal siakam as his 2nd best player. I'm not saying Kawhi is necessarily a better clutch player than Kobe, but I certainly think it's a lot closer than they think. Kobe holds the record for most misses in clutch time too
@coops1992
@coops1992 10 ай бұрын
Yeah that's not even a bad take like this dumb uploader claims. Kawhi is just all around better player than Kobe ever was but injuries hold him back and in the end Kobe will have the better career of the two.
