"I'm on my way home" instantly goes 180 degrees wrong direction even with a beacon... classic splitsie

Remember where you got the different minerals, the uranium, the aluminum ground area, the iridium, osmium etc, because those are the "special areas" the drill was talking about getting specific rarer minerals from, and you'll need to set up drills in those places. There are some spots for super alloy and more iridium, sulfur, etc, so remember those when you find them too. Also, as you noticed with the little fissure you walked through, its an exploration game, not an engineering game, even though you are terraforming stuff. Check every nook and cranny, climb on top of things, check behind stuff, etc. There is a lot of hidden things around.
@TNH913 ай бұрын
For those people just watching it now and wanting to play themselves: if you hold CTRL and click on an item to move it into a storage you'll move _all_ of that item into storage. If you are crafting stuff and you hold CTRL while doing that you'll stay in the crafting screen so you can do several. If you are constructing stuff (like windmills) you can hold CTRL and place down several in a row without having to re-select them. Also if you are constructing stuff and hold CTRL while rotating it goes to the 90 degree defaults instead of smaller increments. EDIT: also; the meteors deliver resources to the planet. So you can get different ores from the different meteors.

Splitsie - "We need more Aluminium ... " makes me wonder what those T2 Solar Panels are made with? When I first started playing this game (1045 hours later) someone made a simple formula for remembering what is needed to make a simple living pod with door - 3-2-1. Easy to remember 3 Iron, 2 Titanium, 1 Silicon. While this game is about terraforming a planet, it is also about exploring that planet very thoroughly. The way the dev's laid out all the different biomes and where they hid stuff really requires exploring in every nuke and cranny you come across. Just like that gap in the cliff side you thought was just a dead end, never take anything in this game for granted are you will for sure miss things. Explore everywhere, even on top of ship wrecks, around behind boulders, under seemingly simple rock bridges ... like the song says "I've been everywhere man, travel I've had my share man ... I've been everywhere!" I really wish I would have been paying closer attention to your channel, I would have loved to have been there during the live stream to watch and point out things like "search everywhere, even under over hangs." I promise I wouldn't have told you exactly where to look, I too like to find things for myself, but encouraging more actual "looking" everywhere I don't mind. Thanks for playing this game. Once it finally came out with multiplayer you were the first person I thought of to suggest giving this a go. So glad you did. Even with Capac as your partner along with TFE would be a hoot. The more the merrier? Hoping you continue to play this for awhile, if you do, it'll be interesting what you do with the animals when you get to that stage :-). Nice video.

I remember playing the ,,prologue" demo that there wasn't a skybox (at least one that i could encounter), meaning, you could build stairs on top of the mountains and sort of get out of the map, so you could make shortcuts across the (vary large) map. Just one of those ,,neat" things that you discover overplaying a demo.

This game is basically First Person Cookie Clicker: Build stuff to increase numbers so you can build more stuff to increase numbers faster. It's by no means a bad game. The exploration is fun and seeing the world change around you over time is nice. It can feel quite grindy at times though and sometimes you just have wait a while until something unlocks you need to progress.
@MMuraseofSandvich6 ай бұрын
Does that scale with more players? Because if not, the grind could be reduced significantly by playing with friends.

@MangoJones1396 ай бұрын
@@MMuraseofSandvich I haven't had the opportunity to play multiplayer yet, but I am thinking about starting a new game with a friend. I'd assume certain aspects could be easier / less grind-y with more players, e.g. resource gathering or building more heaters, drills etc. I restarted the game after the 1.0 release and got all unlocks except three in around 36 hours, but that's with the knowledge of having it played a lot in early access. I'd estimate it would take another 40 hours to get to the final unlock just with my current base setup 😅

tl;dr: Game has nice start, baaaad finish, don't feel bad dropping it 2-3 sessions in. My $.02 about this game. I built a 4 TeraTI world before, my 1.0 world is at 150GTI, and I'm about to uninstall. I'll keep this spoiler free. The only ones worth their salt working on this project were the model and landscape artists. Beautiful stuff if you stick around. Everyone else needs to be fired. Out of a cannon. Into the sun. Engine, world and tech are showing some glaring cracks at times. Gameplay is nonlinearly progressive, and that makes no component optional. You can change where you do it, but now what you do, you have no real choice. Resources are scarcified, then they despawn in front of you, then you're out again. The game is mocking you. What automation gets introduced later only counts as such if the player always wanted to know what it feels like to play Factorio as one of the construction bots. The exploration part is made for people who can't find their ass without a GPS, and I fully expect the studio to be projecting there. The "story" is scarce and utterly nonsensical. Don't bother reading stuff. I've lost count how often I've hit F8 for feedback ingame, nothing changed with 1.0. Instead they added new areas, new endgame grind, and left the old stupidity in place.
