@ytr8989 Жыл бұрын
Car prices will continue to sell at whatever price the customer is willing to pay. If a person has $5,000 bucks that’s burning a hole in the pocket then they’ll shell out the cash for a car or truck valued at $3,000.When customers finally get to the point of walking off from a deal then prices miraculously go down. Just walk away from the deal and se what happens. But most people will not walk away from the sale, so prices remain high.

Mr. Kilmer, what are your thoughts on a 2015 Lincoln MKS AWD EcoBoost full-size sedan, which has the 3.5 L twin-turbo (EcoBoost) V6 engine with 365 horsepower and the six-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift mode? They are much enjoyable to drive, if the odometer reading is low and they are well-maintained, including the replacement of the internal water pump, which is underneath the engine. These MKS' with the EcoBoost engine are fairly reliable and they are fairly fuel-efficient than these older luxurious sedans. I would like to plan to purchase one to use for a road trip and on the weekend, not to use as a daily driver. For a vehicle to use as a daily driver or commuter (from point A to point B), I will just buy a 2008 Mazda 6 mid-size sedan with the 2.3 L four-cylinder engine, which produces 156 horsepower and the five-speed automatic transmission, because it will be very reliable and it will save more money at the gasoline station and save more fuel, than the 2015 Lincoln MKS AWD EcoBoost sedan. It has a higher fuel range and it gets better MPG's (miles per gallon). Thank you very much and have a great night. Cheers.

hello Scotty , i'm thinking about buying a new car , rav 4 or corolla cross, which one is better?
@roygomez6898 Жыл бұрын
I'm not scotty, but the Rav 4's 8 speed transmission will last longer than Corolla's CVT transmission. Less maintenance, too. Cvts need trans fluid changes every 20-30k miles while the 8 speed is at 50-60k. At around 60-80k, you will have to change the cvt transmission filter, gasket, and clean the transmission drain pan from oil along w the little magnets that catch metal shavings in your CVT transmission system. The shavings are a result of friction created from the CVT using pulleys to transfer power to the engine instead of gears like a traditional transmission. I theorize that more friction is created within a CVT rubber belt pulley system leading to more metal shavings vs a metal gear driven transmission. However, we know for a fact that rubber timing belts don't last as long as timing chains. Similar to how a rubber belt cvt system will break down before a 8 speed metal gear driven transmission.

Maybe the advertising by Toyota of what a powerful car the new Crown model is leads people to believe they are buying a racecar in disguise "Turbocharged and electrified" "generating an exceptional 340 combined net horsepower with 400 lb.-ft. of torque." Now that is a real Toyota screwup! I think 99% of the news reporting services are saying Mr. Crown was killed while driving a racecar. um, no. Does the scanner you have allow displaying the number of hours the engine has run like my work pickup does on the vehicles display. I was thinking that looking at the number of hours that a car has run combined with the mileage would be a better item to look at when buying used. Ex: High hours/low miles = more city miles and would not be a good low mileage buy. So, do toyotas generally store hours run and how fancy a scanner do I need to read it?

Depends on the vehicle and manufacturer. I think Ford does have Hours and can be looked at with a scanner

Scotty what do think about hydrogen fuel cells? If they perfect it, even though it is far better for the environment than EV, will the EV infrastructure be so developed we can't change course to Hydrogen?

A Subaru CVT will almost never overheat. The Toyota launch-gear CVT has had reliability problems. Not sure the issues have been resolved: "Spoiler is that they offer improved performance with less rubber-bandy feel and very snappy artificial downshifts used in manumatic/simulated mode (most arguing its the best feeling CVT yet) but on the flip side have had very poor reliability with many customers already having problems after only one or two years. Their manual by contrast has been perfectly reliable and is generally preferred by reviewers, and is unique in that it is more or less an 'assisted manual' which helps to keep you from stalling and rev matches between shifts for you making it an easy-mode manual for novices."

Bard: "There have been some reports of reliability problems with Toyota's launch-gear CVT transmissions. These reports typically involve the transmission slipping or making strange noises, and they have been most common in vehicles with the 2.0-liter engine. In 2019, Toyota issued a recall for certain 2018 and 2019 Corollas with the launch-gear CVT transmission. The recall was issued due to a potential problem with the transmission software that could cause the transmission to slip or make strange noises. Toyota also issued a software update to address the issue. However, some owners of vehicles that were not part of the recall have also reported problems with their launch-gear CVT transmissions. In some cases, the problems have been severe enough to require the transmission to be replaced. It is important to note that Toyota has not issued a general recall for all vehicles with the launch-gear CVT transmission. However, if you are experiencing problems with your transmission, you should bring your vehicle to a Toyota dealer for diagnosis. Here are some of the common problems reported with Toyota's launch-gear CVT transmission: Transmission slipping, Transmission making strange noises, Transmission warning lights coming on, Transmission not shifting properly, Transmission overheating." Failure to launch! I doubt software will fix it. Honda tried to fix oil dilution with a software patch.🤣

The trick is to suspend an electrolyte in a semiconductive substrate. Masonite is also very interesting as well as dolomite lime. Conductive properties also vary with temperature, so it leaves many holes in the theory; and practical application is proving it out; EXPENSIVELY.
