W O W!!! I NEVER would've thought I'd find the most painful wasp sting in the US right in my own backyard! What I thought would be a normal paper wasp sting video quickly turned into a record breaking video with the ringed paper wasp absolutely blowing my mind! These large wasps are common here in North Texas and can be seen busily buzzing around throughout the warmer months of the year. I was shocked at how painful this sting was! Did it surprise you? Keep your eyes peeled for the extended cut where my cameraman ALSO takes a sting! Thanks for watching!

IKR?? Coyote Peterson is such a damn drama queen 😂 it's actually kind of misinforming of him to do that. His reactions to being stung are so much more severe that it makes viewers believe that the sting is much more painful than it actually is.

Coyote Peterson is a showman. He is trying to get people to watch and send the videos to others to watch also. There is a sad truth why Jack and Spencer don’t have nearly the numbers that’s coyote does. They just show the honest truth and coyote screams and acts like he is getting a colonoscopy, root canal, and vasectomy all at the same time with just a bee sting.

@BVN-TEXAS The bullet ant is said to be comparable to being shot, yet he acts like he stubbed his toe. Maybe it's that Coyote Peterson has a pretty low pain tolerance compared to a guy who sounds mildly inconvenienced by pretty much every insect sting.

YES!!! Do you realize how happy you've made me right now, Jack? I must confess that I got quite excited when I read the title. LOL Now this is THE video from you that I've been eagerly looking forward to watching! As you might already know, Polistes annularis is definitely my #1 favorite Polistes species of all time because it is a large wasp which has large colonies which build large nests. It is not unusual to find dinner plate-sized nests with literally hundreds of wasps covering them. In fact, I have quite a few MASSIVE P. annularis nests in my extensive collection which measure literally 10 to 12 inches (or 1 foot) in diameter. I am glad I am the one who suggested that you feature this magnificent species on your channel! P. annularis is the ULTIMATE North American paper wasp in my humble opinion.

Don’t get me wrong, I think you’re completely mad for doing it but you are real and it’s refreshing to see. Keep up the good work dude. Took a sting from two paper wasps in MI, probable a different type, but man did it hurt way more than a bee sting. It was on my back under my shoulder blade in a kinda fatty area, and immediately a inch diameter area swelled up like a giant mosquito bite. I had opened a big plastic container that held a hose and there was a nest in it, and they must have came out right away and got me. Surprised me how bad it hurt, especially after just a month or so prior having taken a bed sting, the contrast was significant!

One thing to keep in mind folks is that this guy truly might not feel the stings as badly as others. Pain tolerance in some is greater than others. This guy has shit sting him in the face and all over and acts like nothing has happened. And I know most are not going to not show a reaction if in his shoes. Now screaming and filling on the ground like you’ve been shot might be a stretch but unless you’ve been stung by a bullet ant or turantula hawk or giant hornet idk if we can comment.

We play Texas Roulette with Paper wasps. We fill a balloon with paper wasp and stick it down in a 5 gallon bucket. Then we sit on the bucket and pop the balloon from a small hole in the side of the bucket. Whoever sits there the longest wins. I’m a 37 time champion Great video. 👍

Wow that's a surprising one for sure- but I guess not too shocking as metricus isn't a fun sting either. I've picked up a few annularis when they were drowsy in the cold morning. Definitely reconsidering that now haha

Great video Jack! How would you compare this sting to dolichovespula maculata? I get stung by them often, and man they HURT! Would you say this wasp was quite a bit worse?

I've had a few of these nest around my home, and these are far less aggressive than the other species here in central TX. I let them be since it is somewhat amusing to watch the commute home in the evening as I'm grilling. They've bumped into me and flew on, where other wasps will go straight to stinging.

Another great video! What I'd love to request is maybe a video on how to catch wasps or other bugs inside your house and transfer them outside without killing them! We get really big wasps and hornets that sometimes come Into our house and frequently I'm the only person in the house that wants to put them outside without issue! It takes me almost a full hour to transport them outside with a strong piece of paper or magazine and a cup and I will admit they do still scare me a bit but I'm trying to get over that fear 🤣 I do get them outside but not before they escape 1-2 times and then I have to start over. You make capture and release so easy! Love to see some tips

Hi, Jack. Thanks for another interesting video. I am curious if sting pain is determined by the type of venom, the stinger itself or a combination of both.
@JacksWorldofWildlife
@JacksWorldofWildlife 2 жыл бұрын
Mostly the type of venom! The stingers are quite small and wouldn’t cause much pain on their own! Great question!

I really enjoy your realistic review of the different stings and bites you encounter. I commented a couple years ago how you need more views for what you do, and I see you have grown a lot since then. Very happy to see. However, I think you may grow even more if you use common name of the insects over the technical name. Very few people are going to know what "polistes annularis" is. I noticed when you compared to other stings, you used their technical names as well. I think those names should be included in all your videos, but with your titles, thumbnails, and comparisons, I feel that the using the common name would attract a bigger audience, or keep them more engaged. Just my opinion of course.
