/ @628dirtrooster Every year I do four or five bee hive removals from columns. They are always difficult and you rarely ever end up with a good colony of bees or any edible honey. Even if disassembly of the column is possible masonry columns are so messy you just about ruin everything during the demolition. Column removals rank right up there with high work on my "I hate this job" scale. In general I like doing bee removals but high work and columns are jobs that I think very seriously about turning down. Whether fortunate or unfortunate, by the time some of these people have my phone number they have already been through a long list of folks who either couldn't or wouldn't do the work leaving me as one of their last options. The funny thing is that even knowing how hard they've worked to find someone who would even do the job they still act surprised that we won't work for free bees. They never complain though once they see what it took to get the bees out and do all the necessary preventative work so that we don't have to come back the next season.
The bee vac I used for this job was the BB Nelson No Kill Honey Bee Vacuum. He can be contacted by email if you are interested in getting one. Jon Nelson bbnelsonapiaries@gmail.com

It never ceases to amaze my how you always get these hard removals, I was very happy just to be the casual observer on this one and not the one getting myself dirty and sweaty. I had a great time watching the master at work and cracking a few jokes with you, can't wait to do it again. I was wondering, was that Okie Rob playing on the banjo at the end of the video, now that guy has talent. God's peace brother.

Being a retired Police - Fire - Medical Specialist I agree it is a great idea to keep a fire extinguisher on hand at each jobsite. However, PLEASE get one that is dependable and is at least twice a big as what you had there. The POS you have on this clip is worthless. I encourage you to get an Amerex Brand 5# ABC dry chemical fire extinguisher to keep in your truck. Love your videos. Stay safe.

@@randlerichardson5826 I`ve learned just to avoid the outdoors completely in the Fall because every year I`d get into a massive yellow jacket nest. The last time they were in a tall clothes basket under a porch at a friend`s house and all attacked at once. I was stung at least 50 times. Another time I was raking pine straw and was pinned in between some bushes and a fence with only one way out and got covered with them and had to strip to get them off of me while running through the yard beside a major highway. They were holding on to my clothes. It was almost dark when it happened and I didn`t realize what was happening until they started stinging my face. And now murder hornets are here!

Sorry I have not been commenting on your awesome videos for a ages! We have been off youtube for quite some time! Great to see you still posting awesome videos! I need to ask you and Mr Ed a question! Do you ever get warning stings from bees? I mean a sting where it does not go all the way in? I had 2 bees sting me about 6 times on my arm and chin but no sting was left in! Just baby stings! I had to open one of the hives because I thought there was a mouse inside! and it was about 2c out side so bees where all home! I also noticed about 12 drones in the Cluster helping to keep the hive warm! great big fat ones! I think Drones seem to produce alot more heat then ordinary workers. I wonder how many other bee keepers leave their drones alone? I guess not many.

Update: You answered this question near the end. So I now know. ……(I have to ask…. How does smoke ever start a fire?? Especially when there is no open flame. Unless you are really having it for the smoker itself.) Hahahaha Sorry!! I love the DirtRooster channel. I wish I could have bees but the summer is so short here. I know people do have them here. One colony swarmed a while back. Not sure if he recovered them or not. Much love from Newfoundland,Canada. Xx

Did my first cut out a few months ago turned out horrible what they said had been there for a few months had to have been there for years two sections between studs were full from floor to ceiling... I had no bee vac... I got stung over twenty times fifteen of which in one arm... missed the queen... and the hive died off afterwards because it was too late in the season and I couldn't find a replacement queen for them....
