I’ve watched a ton of these videos over the last few days and this is by far the best looking hive I’ve seen.. idk if just the layout of their space made them make such perfect shaped combs or what. The honey looked the best, the honey to brood ratio was better than any other removal I’ve seen and the bees were calm and docile. Pretty cool seeing how different hives act and how well they work etc. super interesting stuff, never thought I’d be spending so much time watching beekeeping videos on KZbin but here I am. Keep up the great work!

I'm addicted to watching you work on those hives. We don't have as many hives as we did once it the wild, we do folks that have still have hives. Our bees in S. Oklahoma have a chance of being Africanized in the wild. I've not seen them but I noticed that they have become more aggressive. When I was 8 yrs old, I watched a kid I went to grade school with (and his brothers) rob a hive in the trunk of a tree. They never flinched or used smoke and if they got stung they just picked out the stingers later. I'd go with them if they found a hive but just for the honey to take home. Seemed so darn rich and tasty then. I was also way to chicken to stick my hand in a hive of bees. 64 now. That was a long time ago. I get fresh honey from the Amish near by but it still don't have that taste of coming out of the rotted part of that trunk. Keep it up

"Strawberry Wine" is a song written by Matraca Berg and Gary Harrison, and recorded by American country music artist Deana Carter. It was released in August 1996 as Carter's debut single and the first from her debut album Did I Shave My Legs for This?. The song also became Carter's first number 1 hit on both the US Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks (now Hot Country Songs) chart and the Canadian RPM Country Tracks.

@@mariaweston5477 I have been keeping bees for 3 years and it has absolutely RUINED me from store bought honey! I guess I have become a honey snob! :) I wish I could hand you a piece of comb to try it out like the neighbor in this video so you could see for yourself. But then you'd be ruined too! I can't tell you how amazing freshly strained honey from my hives is. The only thing better is cutting out a cube of comb (like in this video) from a clean wild hive I'm removing, and then plopping it in my mouth and tasting the honey gush out of the cells. THAT IS HEAVEN!! :) I have wondered for years what the commercial guys do to ruin the honey they put in the stores.

Honey colors are interesting: Acacia honey is almost clear with faint tan color, while avocado honey is dark black like used motor oil, and the taste other than very sweet is very faint with acacia, just pure honey sweetness, while avocado is very strong and tastes like weak black coffee with a lot of sugar.
