Thank you for mentioning Snipewriter's object damage. I'm a big fan of how the weapon plays but I never hear anyone talk about how abysmal it's object damage is for no reason. And it's especially weird because Tri Stringer has absurdly great object damage and is also new

There's probably a ton of casual players watching these videos and I just wanna point this out: Even if these weapons are ranked low does NOT mean you should exclusively avoid them. The Aerospray especially can be an excellent weapon for a beginner, because its spread makes up for poor aim. As someone who's just straight-up not good enough at aiming to play competitively, I love using this weapon and I consistently get good results with it.

I mean it still wouldnt be a good weapon but it would feel a bit more useful as it could paint for a good special. I'd probably give it torpedo to affect the fights from a bit further back or fizzy to paint a bit better, but any weapon with wavebreaker and a high tier sub will be higher than any weapon with wavebreaker and mine

@a person who may or may not exist Burst Bombs would let the weapon get assists with less effort since they can't be shot down like Torpedo, and the main weapon excels when it has the tools to get assists. It probably wouldn't be anything amazing, still very fun, though.

Nah I’ve been playing reef-lux as it’s intended (just another bamboozler) and it’s honestly a really fun weapon that’s pretty good if you can reliably hit all three shots

Well cjr is what you use if your comp is longer range since it’s short range and lack of accuracy are two flaws the nova makes up for. As well as the fact that cjr is a bit better at taking fights for itself while nova is better if your comp is more agressive and shorter range so you can have some longer range painting to help your team get in.

@@noizepusher7594 Nova accuracy is as bad if not worse than Jr's, but Jr has a faster up close kill time so it's actually a better fighter than it logically should be. Nova is really only able to kill anything if the opponent is running away from a killer wail at that current moment, plus it's paint is inexplicably low for its range so it's not actually the special spammer you'd expect a 5 shot weapon to be.

@@aronspiker72 ok everyone is overexagerating the nova’s accuracy. It actually has the same accuracy as the splattershot, it’s just that it’s overall range is longer so it’s effective range isn’t equal to its painting range. The jr is made to pick fights and mess things up in the enemy base, while the nova is more like a longer range zap that can paint for longer and more defensively.

@@noizepusher7594 I more meant that Nova has impractical accuracy bc accuracy on a shooter accuracy mainly determines whether you're a painter or a skirmisher but it's not good at either of those because it leaves so many empty spots when painting and the lack of overall damage at full range means the opponent can mostly ignore it when it's trying to space them out and because the fire rate is I believe worse than Splattershot (or at least around the same) with less damage that means it has one of the lowest kill times out of any continuous fire weapon which means it can't even kill at point blank which is something that every weapon in the game besides Explosher and chargers is supposed to be able to do so it can't even act as a slayer. You're mentioning painting defensively for your teammates. Can you define that because if you mean inking the ground ahead of your team so they move in, it will not be very swimmable, if you mean painting the ground that your team is currently fighting on so the can stay mobile while you're at a safe distance, you're just gonna get body blocked because Nintendo has yet to realize same team bodyblocking is one of 7 deadly sins of game design, if you're saying painting escape routes and building up your special, 1: it's not good at charging special in the context of everything I've just said about it, and 2: that's not actually what a support weapon is supposed to be, that's just what flc described as "pretending to be useful", plus this thing doesn't even have a support special so it can't really fill any role at all while CJr is the perfect example of a support weapon as it completely screws over your opponent while doing the location stuff that Nova is supposed to specialize in. I don't know what they intended Nova to do, but I would argue you'd get more value out of the Squiffer if your team NEEDS a point sensor weapon while the only reason you're using a killer wail, is because it came with the .52 gal you purchased from Sheldon.

The *BIG SWIG* is somehow becoming one of my favorite weapons in the game just because of how goofy it is. I do use it for splat zones cheese and I can 100% say that the opponent team sometimes does not know what to do when you are getting zone in 1-2 flicks.

@@zsDUGGZ Honestly this first kit isn't bad, and I'd still reccomend learning it just to get used to the main weapon. Point sensor is cheap enough to throw two at full tank which covers A LOT of ground, and if you have someone locked you can confidently shoot over walls to get someone. Also ink storm might not be the STRONGEST displacement special but even in S+ it's worked really well for me. It still gets quite a few kills just on its own, and combos with your main weapon super nice so that it only takes 2 or 3 hits to kill someone instead of 4. I love this weapon on rainmaker and zones

Dang I got the only Twitch comment in the actual video I still think Reeflux can do that Big Swig thing a bit with how much paint it outputs, and it still has squiffer range one-shots that shoot faster than squiffer for more of that long range pressure. You're right in that it can't do both simultaneously and big swig definitely has a cheesier kit for zones, but my point was Reeflux is similar just more of a generalist.

The best way to buff Undercover is with two simple changes. 1. Remove the damage cap (so the max damage you can deal with all 4 pellets is 48 instead of 40.) 2. Buff the shield HP to 300 or 350. (Because right now it can barely survive much with those damage multipliers in place.) There's some extra stuff in there regarding the kit, too, but the main weapon itself leaves a lot to be desired.

As a gold-badge Undercover Brella main here's what I'd like to see to buff it: •Longer range. This would give it more time to get its 3-shot kill, buff its already fair painting ability, and allow it to get special frequently enough to use it for mobility purposes with less fear of being without it in the situations where it's safe to use offensively. •Higher minimum damage so it's harder to dodge on your way in, because its already low damage becomes pretty pitiful at the edge of the reticle. •MUCH higher shield contact damage. Like 45-60. This is situational but would help keep it from getting pinned as it tries to dodge enemy counter-fire and would allow it to quasi-shark like Sheldon's description suggests the devs wanted it to be able to do. In my opinion the base kit is fine because it works well for mobility and flip-flopping between offensive and defensive play using mines to reduce TTK, which seems to be the chosen weakpoint for the weapon by the devs. I think that it being a 3-shot slow TTK with the ability to compensate with mines is fine and makes for a very quirky style of play that I enjoy. But it needs to be able to chip away at enemies from a little further away to actually get the chance to land that many hits or to capitalize on mines from more of a safe distance. I would rather see the range increase than a shield HP buff (though I'll take it if they go that route.)

I would buff the fire rate. Like imagine if it’s fire rate was just as fast or slightly faster than a charger tap shots. This would make painting the ground much faster and the kill time would also be better.

As an almost Gold-Badge Undercover Brella Main, I think these are solid improvements. Also, I know both Undercover Brella & Reefslider need buffs, but I also LOVE the playstyle of switching between offensive & defensive as well. With the range buff you put forth & with my own experience as a S2 Kensa Undercover Brella Main, I think another kit should have Torpedo.

@@CoolMintMC My personal pick for an ideal alt kit is literally the same as Custom Jr. -- torpedo and wavebreaker both force your opponent to take their eyes off of you or suffer the consequences. Goes perfectly with the way you use vunder to draw aggro and distract players. All about pulling attention.

@@eaa1338 it already has pretty solid painting when you strafe, especially with a little run speed up. If they increased the fire rate you'd end up with overlapping paint and the efficiency would go down as a result. What I WOULD like to see would be a brand new brella that fires with the same range and speed as the Grizzco Brella but with less damage. The weapon itself would look like a tropical drink parasol and would always be open like the Undercover Brella but it's *behind* you instead of in front, which is less useful, but helps with mitigating flanking or when getting chased.

You can just move your camera slightly to paint without it overlapping and painting for specials would go faster. This would help with it’s dps, splat time and also a tiny bit with mobility cause faster fire rate would give you less commitment when shooting. The efficiency would be a bit worse but almost everything else would be an improvement. A new brella would be nice though.

started playing bow more casually as im just leveling up different weapon freshness , and started enjoying it much more than at the start of the game, does seem like an almost jack of all trades but master of none but still below average compared to others that fill that role. definitely a lot of fun though! now just need to learn the stampana, gotten well with regular splatana but stamp illudes me

Ok, so, undercover brella is great at skirmishing. You approach an area where you know an enemy is going to be, set up the mines, and then when an enemy comes through, start fighting them and lead them into the mines. The mine(s) adds enough damage to end the fight before the sheild breaks. If your team can hold advantage, you can very easily break off on win 1v1s, then rejoin the team at a 3v4. I also find mines to be very useful in clam blitz, so that's where I usually play undercover brella, seeing as that's also a mode where breaking off for a 1v1 doesn't hurt the team as much as in something like TC

Love the tier list! Especially the big swig tier. I really think the splattershot pro (specifically the forge since it’s a lot better and I’ve seen a number of people still hating on it) gets more hate than it should. I agree with its placement on this list from a competitive point of view but, and maybe it’s just me, it’s really good in solo queue. Many weapons outclass it in some way but in return it’ll usually play off that same weapons weakness. The main weapon itself doesn’t really have any major weaknesses and does everything at a good (not great) level. But of course, from a competitive point of view you want weapons that are able to capitalize on something.

as someone who actively plays the n brellas heres what id buff. all brellas: -all brella canopies take reduced object damage . -passive canopy recovery is tied to ink recovery ontop of slightly boosting the recovery rate. undercover and tenta not that much but splat significantly. means any ink recovery skill boosts recovery time. -let subs be used while canopys are actively open. -if canopy isn't launched refund ink that wouldve been used. -shots become singular globs (for more consistent hits) or maximum 3 akin to trizooka for better dmg consistency. same trajectories and inking tho. no damage fall off. undercover: -more canopy hp, perhaps from now 200 to 260 -canopy opening speed for undercover should be instantaneous. -if one glob shots 45 damage if 3 15. -significantly more fire rate. -if subs can be used while holding canopy it won't shoot while holding the sub and briefly take less object dmg.(about the time it takes to quickly throw out a sub.) -subs i would favour: burst , torpedo, autobomb. specials i would favour: wave breaker, ink storm, wail. as well as buffing reefsliders shark hitbox to protect better and cleanse dmg taken at the start and end of the special. i would also nerf suction splat and autobomb to be destroayble like torpedo. splat: primarily fix ink efficiency. launch and shooting need to be cheaper. -canopy opening faster than now but not instant. -dmg is fine atm you can two shot. but make it more consistent with globs instead of pellets. subs thatd work: burst fizzy auto torpedo. beacon specials: zipcaster ink storm wail crab tank wave breaker, tenta: save for occasionally not working its fine. faster canopy opening speed ,dmg is fine it can one shot. subs: beacon is solid but id also give fizzy autobomb or torpedo specials. crab tank, wail, ink storm,

I main e-liter and found out it's gonna be in top in the top tier list, it makes sense tho because it's range is ridiculous, and due to linear maps, it's better at killing, also on maps like mai mai it can gate keep entire teams sometimes, my only problem is the ink mines but that might just be a me problem because I straight up forget they exist

Tenta needs to have object shredding bonuses to be like half on it specifically, and it also probably needs changes like having bombs bounce off instead of instantly detonating, and obviously a ton of ink efficiency, the ability to 1 shot with 1 less pellet, less white ink frames on everything, and then it might be really good

I am a wannabe competitive dualies main and I think my biggest issue with them is the suction bomb. Dualies are pretty decently ink hungry and suction does not help with that in the slightest, I tend to have difficulties being mobile when my sub takes most of my ink. A single buff that would majorly help vbrella other than the shield actually working would be a grey ink buff. Right now you can shoot and swim all the way through the trail and still not have your ink start recovering. It has atrocious ink recovery lockout for its cost and damage. If it recovered as fast as Slosher its ink management issues would be solved overnight and it would be much better at painting swimmable ink.

I played sploosh 7 in splat 2 but i havent gotten it to 1 star yet in splat 3. I've got 150 hours on the game. I didn't even remember its a weapon until you brought it up. It might just be me, but its obvious the sub has made its popularity go down drastically. Also, ultra stamps not good now.

I primarily play Salmon Run, so it's fascinating to see the discrepancies between normal battle and SR rankings. No class better highlights this then Brellas Sense the shield fix, Normal and Tenta Brellas are CRACKED in SR: ☆ When released the shield can mow down hords of lessers ☆ Can tank enough damage to save you from Flyfish, Scrappers, Steelheads and Steel Eels ☆ Great at helping protect teammates Tenta's niche is giving vital breathing room during Glowflies thanks to its shield. While Normal's niche is when positioned just right during Goldie Seeking, you can shread through, even kill a Goldie in a single chase sequence While Undercover is the worse, it's at least ranked mid because it does a decent job with horde management. Its gimmicks functioning way better in SR then they ever could in normal battle Obviously this is all because of how different the circumstances of each mode is. But I can't help but feel it's such a shame that Brellas clearly have great strengths and potential! Criminally downplayed by Nintendo either not knowing what to do with them or neglecting them. One day I hope they get the care they deserve

I think stamper being good makes bow good, cuz the weapons work together super well with the Long range chip and wail. I used to think toxic mist was a waste of ink but having three shots after without any ink saver lets you get some nice value. it is the most consistent anchor imo, and it's only weakness is it struggles with getting out of tricky situations.

The only 2 pieces of advice I can give to someone who wants to use Splat Brella: get up real close to kill. The brella canopy damages opponents even without it being launched meaning that if you hold the attack button while close enough to damage with canopy you can kill quickly. My second piece of advice is to not use splat brella
