I was in Madrid with my family and they put me in charge of the transportation and logistics of the entire trip. 😯Thankfully we only got on one wrong train, but almost missed two others

At 52 I am moving to Florence in October from the USA. I also am going to a language school, Parola language school on Borgo Santa Croce. I even found an apartment just a couple doors down from my school! I am absolutely excited. Any advice about Florence, the Santa Croce neighborhood, bars and restaurants, etc? I just came across your channel today, nice videos! Grazie mille! ❤🇮🇹

Hey Paul, that is awesome! I loved language school and so did my mother, she attended it for 2 months back in 2017 and said it was one of the best experiences she’s ever had and that she didn’t want it to end. You cannot go wrong with Santa Croce, it is a stunning neighborhood. You can’t really go wrong with Florence, it’s big enough to have a lot to offer yet small enough to get around and experience everything as it is all within walking distance. My advice would be to take part in as many activities you can, be it with the school or outside school, as you will make lots of friends and it’ll be fun to experience new bars/restaurants together. There is so much I could recommend but you’ll stumble across little gems as you explore the city. Head to Oibo for aperitivo, Gusta Pizza across the river and Gelateria dei Neri for your gelato & for a great rooftop bar / cafe with a view of the Duomo La Terrazza in Piazza Repubblica 👌🏽 Other than that, be sure to fully immerse yourself in anything and everything around you, you are going to have an amazing time and I will buy you a coffee when we are back up that side 😅 I’m sure you’ll have an amazing experience! 🇮🇹
