Man, I'm 60 son of a police officer (Houston, TX) and cannot fathom why the State of California would arrest someone over their car modifications. To me that is so un-American, you should have the right and creativity to do what you want as long as its safe to you and others on the roadways that we pay for in our taxes. I’m in Cali, so only so far I can take things, before I get pulled over and have to pay a visit to the state ref haha 🤣😂….So I have only done bolt on mods stock turbo/stock engine/stock fuel set up/stock injectors….Like many have said Cali sucks for these bogus CARB laws when most states don’t give a flying sh!t what you do to your car, as long as you don’t drive like a dingleberry.

Although my shortblock is a closed deck block they can hold hotter temps better than stock ones but once i start to see it creep above 212Degrees i pull over and turn it off, thats a little to hot for me. And it also doesnt help that i have a massive turbo which gets heat soaked so quick! & oh man that must suck! I have a few friends who told me theyve got reffed for just an intake or headers is that true? That is insane! Its your car, you should have the freedom to do whatever you want to it!

@@Owensti Yeah bro, when you see them temps go up, you gotta shut it down ! Better to play it safe than sorry…Yeah man ! You can get state reffed for an aftermarket intake ! If you don’t have a CARB legal sticker for in your engine bay, or if it is not listed on the CARB approved list, automatic state reffed ! You can get state reffed for just a aftermarket muffler !!!! Haha. There are people with newer mustangs, and Elantra’s that have “track mode” who are getting state reffed even though the car is straight bone stock right off the dealers lot ! I have seen people pulled over for “modified exhaust” and cops pull out the decibel meters and are reading the loudness of the exhaust tips while you rev the car at like 2/3 thousand rpms. It is so F’ing Nazi over here in Cali when it comes to modded cars…Even if you are all up to date with insurance/registration, you driving 110% by the law, they can/will still pull you over, some cops just like to flex that badge on people. Like also in Cali, you by law have to have a front license plate on the car, if you don’t, an excuse to pull you over, and tell you to pop your hood, or if your front windows, or windshield is tinted, pulled over, then comes the pop the hood game.
