Thanks for battling the mosquitoes to bring us another fascinating story. Your work is fantastic. You tell all your stories as if you were speaking to a friend. Thanks, Chris

*_This was a great video, first of all! Those bunkers were ridiculously cool, all I could think of was how they could be renovated. You know, a good paint job with a cheery color, maybe some kind solar-powered generator hooked up to get through the winter, etc. That graveyard in such a remote area did remind me of a story I heard, about these U.S. Army Soldiers back in the 1970s that were ordered to clear out a small town very similar to this. The story focused on three or four Soldiers that were making one last sweep of the place and they passed through an old graveyard just like the one featured here. Then all kinds of strange things began to happen to them, like something out of a scary movie. The story was told on one of those "True Paranormal Story" shows, by one of the Soldiers involved and you could tell he still had no idea what was going on there, but it still spooked him. Keep up the good work & stay safe out there!_*

Amazing video. I grew up just down the street, it was the best times when parent just let you run wild.... literally 😂 you definitely did you research on this. It makes me very happy that the story will never die. Dad started telling me about it, but with the internet now there is so much more information. ❤

Wow, that cemetery is incredible! A true testimony to the poor souls that were displaced and affected in that take over. And kudos to the people that are taking good care of it! I want to do that so badly with the one down the road from me in Dayton Oregon but it’s owned by a private party and they don’t want anybody on it which is really sad because people still go there and it’s just decimated 😔

Wow, all the bunkers I've ever seen or been in were empty. Boy did they echo!! Elias Sechler, PA Civil War veteran buried in one of the cemeteries there with flat stone and placard of confederate bullet and him falling in Battle of Fredericksburg. Its pretty large and hard to miss.

You need to get one of🦟 those bug net head gear things for areas like this,🦟 and a safe bug spray🦟 too.. 🦟🦟😅👍🏻 Some of those burial plots could have been pre-purchased before the town was gone, that would account for some of the date differences. 😔

You are better than the US Mail, for you've made your way through nearly everything (including mosquitos) to bring us a story. And what a story this one is. Thanks to you, we now know about this place (I certainly didn't prior to your video), and of the sad story of what happened to the inhabitants of Wisetown (sp?). It is made all the worse by the fact that the government only used these bunkers and the land for less than one year. I suppose war covers a multitude of sins. In any event, thank you, Chris, for again bringing us a piece of history heretofore hidden from many.

That last one would be a great house, except for the lack of windows. No worries about storm straight winds or funnels. This is interesting history but not so good for the people who had to move away and leave a family heritage behind. Our government! Displacing the town and spending all that money for the land and for the bunkers and then giving it away a year or two later. Sounds about right. I love my country but politicians certainly dont have a thought about spending lots of our tax money, and often very foolishly!! Nothing ever changes on that front.

It is absolutely disgusting that the government can use imminent domain to force average citizens from their land. There should be some kind of recourse that can stop it.

Well, now they have realized that the land is more profitable if the people remain, so they just decimate it now, rebuild, and create subsidies with penalty clauses that are extremely anti-human rights.. a.k.a. 15 minutes cities.
