I went into it thinking I’d never pay that price, but after watching your review I’d definitely go for it! Sure the portions are not ginormous- but there’s so much waste on buffets. Vegas buffets USED to be an inexpensive way to eat, now it looks like you almost have to take out a loan to eat in these places. So much for the Senior discount. You now pay AFTER you eat and the tax, fees, and tip, you're paying almost $100.00 for ONE person!
@Nonduality4 жыл бұрын
It's a fair price. Compare it to the cost of buying prime rib, beef ribs, turkey, crab legs, mussels, cheesecake, ice cream, strawberry shortcake, salmon, and everything else they eat and could have eaten, then consider the time it takes to cook everything perfectly and to clean up afterward. A hundred bucks is cheap.

Any time I've eaten at a restaurant with this format, it is encouraged to order your next series of dishes when the server comes with your food. That way, there is literally no time spent waiting between series of dishes. I find it strange that you have to order, wait for the food to be served, have your plates removed, wait for the server to return to take your order, and wait some more. It also seems far less efficient employee-wise.

I'm glad they found a way of operating that allowed them to open back up, but I don't see that being a sustainable model for them to run on long term. Though I could see that approach being used by the other big buffets in Vegas, at least for a little while. The Wynn buffet has been on my to do list for a few years now and I still haven't made it happen, honestly with that style of operation I'm not sure I would want it to be my first experience there. On the other hand though, I could see smaller portions getting staggered as a good way to try multiple different things since you wouldn't fill your plate with just a few different items each trip and get full quickly. Whatever the case, Derek thanks so much for getting this video out!!! It's very interesting to see how they've adapted!

I'm just enjoying the meal vicariously through you and remembering what it was to have a life LOL. But it was very handy to see the salmon compared to the size of a wet nap etc!

Would not eat at a buffet like that. 2hr time limit ok... but when servers take forever to find out what you want give you their spiel that is not ok. Also, you are encouraged to order just a couple things. And other people are choosing portions and sides for you... no thanks... at a buffet I want to choose, including how much gravy/bbq sauce/etc I want. Don't like this new style at all. Cafeteria style was laughed in video... but if I'm paying a huge price, I want actual portions, not tasting samples. BTW Derek... you video is really good, and the music in the background was nice (hope you don't get demonitized for it)... and I think your fiance adds a great quality to the videos. Nice to see things returning back to Vegas. CHeers

Casinos are union, so they get $20/hour and don’t need tipped. Plus the 2 hour limit is law across multiple states (and all restaurants). So complain to your governor if you don’t like it (shrug) .

The food looks great. And I know it's the "new normal" and that this is the way it has to be. But the long ordering process really impedes on the whole enjoyment of the buffet experience.

(1) Wynn has always served appetizer sized portions. You can grab or request 2-3 plates of each item. (2) Flamingo & Harrahs has cheaper buffets at $25, but the food is bad. I went once and never again. Wynn and Cosmopolitan is best. (3) Strip casino workers are union at $20/hour (more or less; depends on seniority). No tip needed, so that saves some cash .

Its 7 pm monday after Derek's vlog into the new Wynn buffet. I just left dinner. Sure it's expensive but you can eat till you bust for two hours. I enjoyed the way the staff brings you the food. It's at a better pace than just fill a huge plate up and barely finish half of it. This is the first buffet where each hot dish comes out hot and each cold dish is cold not room temperature. The food quality was typical Wynn dining--excellent. Now let's see how the Bucchanal tries to top this.
@JetHawk4 жыл бұрын
They got early bird special around 3-5pm for $45-46. Same $60 dinner menu I believe. I like the new service style. Whenever they go back to self serving I hope they can consider having them pre-plated instead of customers plating food themselves. Having food in their own plate is much more presentable and makes it easier to try everything, vs a customer piling their own plate to realize they can’t finish it. I don’t wanna put Asian food next to spaghetti anymore.

So good to see you back, and with an almost feature length edition too. Have to say, first off, I think the Wynn have done a good job there. Spacing everyone, the service looked good, and the food good quality, everything you would expect and want from the Wynn. With 2 hours too, you can still get a really good feed in too. Your Fiance really should join you more in these videos. She was great, very enjoyable to watch and listen too. She is clearly a big foodie too. Great stuff. So far I am sold on the ribs and Turkey and that mash looked great too. The prime rib, not done enough for me but the yorkshire was a nice touch. and it was a shame about the fried chicken. The ice creams looked lovely and the desserts overall. I liked it. They packed in the courses and nothing seemed to much trouble. Thanks to you both for a great video.
