The X-Files 30th Anniversary American Mythos

September 10th, 2023 marks the 30th anniversary of the premiere of The X-Files.
It was one of the greatest shows of the ‘90s and remains a vital cultural touchstone to this day.
With that anniversary looming, UFOs back in the news, and presentations before Congress, it seemed a fitting time to take a serious look back at my favorite TV show.

Awesome channel!! It might be my all time favorite show. I just remember it being on t.v. with that intro and music that absolutely caught my attention. I've always been interested in those kinds of things. Unsolved Mysteries!

I'm glad you're planning on doing this! Quite brave of you! I remember the last two seasons of the original run had some episodes that were really painful to watch. And I say that as someone who also has a real nostalgic soft spot for this show! The first seven seasons I remember had some great moments, though!

I remember watching the X Files on a Friday night along with Robocop and the Flash as a kid. It scared the hell out of me and gave me nightmares. Next day I would watch Saturday morning cartoons like Transformers, Conan and Saber Rider and the Star Sherriffs. How times change lol.
