I think the suggestion is that Nimrod specifically injected Bobby, as one of his primary targets, with a special compound that would quickly infect and destroy every single H20 molecule in his body. Meaning Iceman's famous infinite H20 regeneration would be nullified.

The krakoa resurrection thing really opened the door for all mutants to get slaughtered. What's even more dumb is how easy they're all just getting killed. There's no way in hell that you have the most powerful mutants in area and they're getting stomped out like that. Like, Xavier can erase all of them with a thought. I've seen a comic where he took apart an entire house screw by screw just to walk inside and talk to cable. Now they're ants.

It made sense when they died in that story because of how powerful they were shown to be at the time. Also, writers can’t seem to comprehend that maybe mutants wouldn’t be so hated nowadays? If xavier was doing something like sending everyone to a meat grinder wouldnt he be able to tell they were dying or at least not going to mars? Giga brain jean grey cant tell someone is coming up behind her when literally everything else is essentially time stopped? Maybe Nimrod can throw juggarnaunt around but why did his attacks actually hurt him if hes got that magic resistance? Im happy to suspend my disbelief but at a certain point thats all there is to do.
