Really really lazy review.... I don’t think he really played many games on the system based on the lack of footage and generic content. I actually agree that fundamentally I would not pay scalper prices as it’s not life changing over what you can get on next gen. but at the same time I have been really impressed by my series x having played a range of titles on it. Game pass is an absolute game changer and was not mentioned here. And the dashboard is customisable. And the controller is the same as last time around with a much less squishy dpad. Reviewing the Series X as a piece of tech and not a gaming system is like reviewing a Tesla as a toaster and not a car.

Hey thanks for the feedback you make great points, tho I did not show b-roll of many titles I did play many more then just Destiny. I def did focus more on the bad then the good. And while some of the home screen is customizable the primary tiles are not, and ad's are still pushed, and its possible I got a defective controller. Either way I appreciate your feedback and your comment and i'll most likely revisit this in the future under a new lens.

@@jetthalili6433 it’s not about exclusives, now more so than ever. It’s about being able to play the best version of loads of games. I’m not about comparing it to PS5 but the biggest launch games for that (Spider-Man MM and demon Souls) are effectively cross platform DLC and a remake of a 10 year old game. I have actually been really impressed with the optimised content Microsoft have done.

Sorry but this was quite a lackluster review. You seemed to focus more on downloads which is server dependent and UI elements more so then gameplay. When you talked about gameplay it was too brief and you didn't even acknowledge which games you did play or which games you were experiencing long loading times with. All I saw was destiny 2 which varies on loading times based on server load. Probably better to outline examples for pros and cons for the device but judging by your enthusiasm for the product, it seems like you wanted this review to be over and done with.

I didn't talk about gameplay because I didn't want to make this a gaming review, but rather focus on the technology that drives the console. In hindsight I see that my b-roll only showed Destiny but I did also try about 10 other titles like Halo, Forza, Warzone, AC Valhalla, etc and maybe I should also have filmed b-roll of that. Regardless the experience, for me, was consistent across the board. Thanks for your comment, I really appreciate all this feedback! I'm gonna take this back to the lab and revisit in a couple of months and try and do better

@@FranklinReid_ No worries, you have great presentation but the way you covered the content was lacking any sort of context. Was your experience consistently bad or good? What is the benchmark you are evaluating the series x with what you consider a better experience. If you had comparisons, that would make it easier for your viewers to understand where you are coming from. IMO, It is as if you had an end goal of labelling it as a bad device and built your negative points around it, so you can see it may come across as biased to some.

@@edubogota1 ive had mine in the uk since a the 19th and have my house heated in the winter, only been 4days but so far its been very good not had any heating issues or crashing. Of course that could happen so time will tell. i also havent used sleep mode just in case, played and beat the new spiderman and started playing watch dogs 3 so far everything has been fine and the new controller feels amazing i just hope the devs use it in there games from now on and not just sonys 1st party.

For me Xbox is the clear winner. My Series X has been flawless so far. Fast and quiet. I always turn controller gimmicks off such as rumble because they are distracting and annoying to me. The Xbox exclusives are where all my friends are because most Xbox exclusives are single player, online co op, and online MP rolled into one. Only Ori is single player, which is also an amazing experience. It was definitely my social hub console last gen where my PS4 Pro exclusives were all cookie cutter single player 3rd person movie games. They're great games, don't get me wrong, but once I completed a game within a couple of weeks the console would collect dust for months until the sequel to something or other came out. Not to mention, VRR on my Xbox makes every game smoooooth as butta. The controller definitely feels different, and superior to me. Every surface is a mat material which provides more friction and a better grip. You can clearly feel this running your thumb over the D pad. When your hands get sweaty the friction helps a lot. It also looks good. The companion app? I'm not sure why anyone would feel the need to use the companion app to set up the console. I prefer to set it up new and start my downloads manually to make sure things aren't applied to or downloaded to the console that I may have changed my mind about. Keeps clutter down. The UI is as simple as you can get. You literally just press down on the D pad to get to all major areas such as the store, your games, gamepass, etc.. It literally couldn't be simpler. Having the settings within the X button mini dash was a good idea. It keeps clutter down and puts all the important things in one place, such as party chat, settings, media, friends, audio settings, etc.. Everything you need is literally within a couple of button presses away. Stuttering? I've experience a LOT more stuttering on the PS5. My Xbox has a nifty thing called VRR and so does my display. Every game is smooth as butter with this great tech, and it's only on the Xbox right now. Old games like Gears of War 3 and even Kameo look amazing at high resolution, much better than the vanilla versions looked back in the day. They almost look like they came from last generation with the improvements. The Touryst is running at a downsampled 6K. Looks fantastic and runs perfectly. Enlisted is smooth and beautiful. Halo, Sea of Thieves, Gears 5, Ori, RDR2, No Man's Sky, Forza, all look and/or run better. RDR2 is still the best looking console game out there. In fact, there are still plenty of games out there that look better than anything new on either console right now, including Demon's Souls. Only time will tell if advancements in graphics will truly come for these new consoles. I haven't seen anything yet that looks better than the best looking last gen games. I'm actually disappointed in both consoles but so far my initial experience has been best with my Xbox.

First off, thank you for your thought out comment! I 100% agree with you, if your social hub is all on Xbox I completely understand why that would be your console of choice. Personally, my social hub is all on PC and Discord. I also have a Sony X900H tv so I've also experienced VRR in all it's glory, and it's phenomenal to finally have that on a console. I think the Xbox Series X has a lot of upside and I'm really excited to see what both Microsoft and development studios have in store for the future. Multiple errors throughout the video. You do not *need* the mobile app for instance. Discussing loading in a game that has no next gen patch and depends on a game server. (Destiny 2) 🤦‍♂️But your final assessment is a safe one. Wait if you can unless you play a lot and want to reduce load times. Just see all the videos showing load time comparisons.

thank for the feedback, you are correct after doing some further research you can set it up without the app, but the experience using the app still stands. When I was referring to long game loading times I showed destiny and COD but I was referring to my experience across the board with other titles as well, thats my error tho for not showing reflective B-Roll. But yes, I still think the console itself has tons of upside potential and a year or two from now I might be eating my words. Thanks for your correction feedback and comment

Wow, I just learned the new Xbox controller is mushy compared to the old one. Been playing this thing since day 1 and I hadn't even noticed. Did a side by side and sure enough, the old controller is about 20% less mushy than the new one on the A/B/X/Y buttons. But the new D-pad is definitely an improvement. Disclaimer I've never been a fan of the PS style D-pad. Come to think of I rarely use the D-pad anyway, but when I do my thumb finds the correct direction remarkably faster, so there's that. As for the mobile app required for setup, in this video the "Skip" feature is clearly visible on that screen. Use the "Skip" feature or don't complain about the mobile app setup, it's not required.

I actually do prefer the Xbox controller over any other console controller, it was just a comparison between the last gen and this new current gen where I personally wasn't a fan of. And yeah I did get feedback about being able to skip setup on mobile, and doing it on the console, but I still feel like that setup was cumbersome on a UX level. How do you call a "technical masterpiece" by your words "not good"? I think you brought up some decent points of contention, but it seems like you're reaching and not accounting for people who may already be in the XBox ecosystem-especially when you mention the UI. The Series X is not a must buy based on certain things you mentioned, but it an impressive piece of tech-you admitted as much. Is the standard for something being good contingent upon having to buy it as soon as it is released?

Great points, I agree with you users already in the eco system prob find the Ux simple and easy to use. However, when I look at interface design I feel like it should be easy for anyone to just pick up and use. In hindsight I think my delivery was wrong but the exorbitant prices I’ve seen online and the frenzy around acquiring the console is concerning. I called it a technical masterpiece because it truly is, and maybe my title is a bit “eye catching” but like I said it’s just my opinion. And I appreciate the feedback.

Netflix, hulu, amazon prime etc all advertise pay to view films on there subscription platform. So why should Microsoft not do it. It is clearly a way to let people see what is out there for the console without the need to goto a games store, which in this current environment would be closed anyway. I definitely prefer Xbox series x. It performs almost the same as ps5 even if a bit slower. But what's important to me is backwards compatibility as I love playing my old games. So I'm my eyes the Xbox is better because of the ability to play old favourites. I never really liked psvr but I have to admit the ps5 dualsense is kinda saucy. Awesome take on the Xbox Series X. I felt the same about waiting on the Next Gen consoles since the exclusive launch titles aren’t something to brag about like the last Gen was. When I got my Xbox One Day One edition I really did feel the next Gen of those consoles. However, I feel like these consoles were probably rushed and were not optimized to present the next Gen feel many were expecting. They should of taken a page from Blizzard Entertainment’s book and delay the launch so that they can work on improvements and provide that Next Gen experience everyone was hoping for. Right now I feel like owning these consoles is more of a bragging right than an experience. I’ll take my $500 and use it on some Yu-Gi-Oh cards for now. I’ll revisit the Next Gen consoles at a later time when they have some more updates in software and game library.
