I should mention that at the game’s launch in December 2017, you couldn’t skip the voice lines in menus so every time you send Ursula out on one of her missions you’d have to hear her say “We are Ursula’s New Groove… and we’ll do what we can.” Every. Single. Time. I salute you for actually going through it all for the content. Thanks for all the work you put into this video that’s basically a movie, I enjoyed it a lot! Looking forward to you starting Torna! Also it would be really cool to see you play Xenoblade X after 3, although it would probably be difficult to get a physical copy and a Wii U lol

@@DeiZeiga ursulas quest would work alot better if the game had a garunteed way to get her early. like have her be an early game sidequest reward like vess, only without needing her to die first. i got ursula very early in my playthrough, like so early merc missions just unlocked. so i could run the merc mission while i was doing my job and then use all the op blades i made in the plot.

@@DeiZeiga It just sucks that Elma didn't get that treatment. Mainly because she was a last minute addition to the dlc. So they didn't get the main cast to voice proper interactions with her. I guess to make up for this they gave her a special quest line where the XC2 party takes her on a tour around Alrest. You access it by following requirements on her skill tree. And it ends with all the Xeno protags at that point all talking together in a cute scene. Sorry Fei you're still stuck in Square Enix jail.

Elma Redux is probably the hardest fight in Xenoblade as a whole. That fight, on custom difficulty, with every odd stacked in my favor, and while abusing Zeke with Corvin (who has a spammable invincibility art) still took me 48 fucking minutes to get through!

There is one last thing I was missing in here because it’s arguably the absolute coolest stuff before Xenoblade 3 was a thing and that is the talk of all the Xeno Protags. I don’t remember how exactly it is triggered, I recall it being part of Elmas Skill Unlocks, but I’m not 100% certain. Seeing Elma, Rex, Shulk and co talk in spots of Alrest about stuff. Besides being able to use them in combat, these are the reason why I wanted them outside of the Land of Challenge.

So yeah, Monopon is the Nopon in charge of Monolith Soft's Twitter account (which is only in Japanese, hence why you probably never heard of her). That yearly Heropon challenge has you beat literally every major Nopon NPC OF THE ENTIRE XENOBLADE SERIES SO FAR, including Riki and Bana from Xenoblade 1, Tatsu from Xenoblade X and Monopon from Twitter, meaning at least of Xenoblade 2 (I can think of SOMEONE from 3 that could have a shot at the title), Tora is canonically the strongest Nopon in the Xenoblade multiverse.

Combine that with how it also has the weakest story and characters (though some of the best side quests, exploration, and by far the most customization), and it just kind of ends up on the sidelines of the series. This video was so painful to watch, knowing that you'd do Ursula's quest last and not knowing what type of "difficulty" it brings. Congrats on finishing base 2, and I'll look forward to seeing Torna! Also, NG+ carries most important things like blades, affinity charts, accessories, etc. The main things it does not carry over are containers, merc missions, and quests. Thankfully, there is no need to do blade quests all over again if you fully completed them and got the affinity chart reward for it. Lastly, this and Torna are the only Xenoblade game on Switch where your NG+ save overwrites your current save (same goes with New Game).

Yeah everything thing from blades Blades affinity as well as levels. Literally in the beginning of New Game+ You can use Pneuma with an actual level 4. Yeah in new game + Pneuma has a level 4 Combo art and it's flashy as hell and the Animation absolutely goes hard.

To provide a little extra context on things in this video: Elma is the central character of Xenoblade X (The protagonist being a customizable self-insert more akin to a typical MMORPG). I highly recommend checking out X after 3, it trades off a much weaker main story for a huge open world with loads of side stories and world building, plus you get to fly mechs (also the OST is entirely composed by Hiroyuki Sawano, if you're familiar with that name :). X mostly just gets small references throughout 2 and 3, so skipping it until last is totally fine, especially given its on a completely different console. As for Elma in 2, she brings over X's Unique Monster theme "Uncontrollable", as well as the Overdrive theme "Wir Fliegen", alongside enabling the use of a (slightly modified version of) Overdrive despite the completely different combat system. "This Year's Heropon" sees you fight more or less every named nopon in the entire series released at that point, including Tatsu from X and Riki from 1. Monopon, the final nopon, is a personification of Monolithsoft (Mono[lith]-pon) and the face of the JP Twitter account. In regards to NG+, the main things you get are: - Traders that accept excess bonus EXP in exchange for rare things like overdrive protocols, as well as Poppiswap parts and ether shards so you don't have to grind Tiger! Tiger! - All drivers get a second skill tree with minor bonuses, except Zeke who gets access to the actual Eye of Shining Justice itself (I wont spoil what it does here :). - The NG+ blades, as you are aware (I also wont spoil who those are), however if I recall correctly you would have to re-beat the entire story (or thereabouts) to unlock them. And on a final note, this game's combat is *broken* broken, the damage cap is so low at only 999,999 that at least half the blades in the game can hit it easily, literally every enemy on Hard or below can be killed in one chain attack easily with even only a medium amount of optimization and grinding. Though that's kind of the rule in this series, not the exception, X and 3 are also absurdly broken (you can kill EVERY ENEMY in X in one art (even the one with 100M HP) and you can beat every challenge mode stage in 3 in under two seconds real time, iirc). So glad you enjoyed one of my favourite games of all time, and I cant wait for Torna and beyond :)

2:18:46 To be fair, Rex more wanted to understand where the villains were coming from first instead of just killing them because they opposed each other, which requires some leniency in finishing them off. And when push did come to shove, he did kill Malos, and most likely would have done the same for Jin and Almalthus if they didn't double-kill each other. Hell, I don't think he ever voiced any concerns about killing Almalthus, so Rex being more ok with (indirectly) finishing off his goons isn't too farfetched.

a thing that can help with supercuts like this is use the youtube chapters. its basically timestamps embedded in the video. it can help in videos that already have some structure so people can jump back to where they were since yt only remembers how far you are if your link doesnt have a timestamp in it.

Forgive me if someone has already told you, but Xenoblade Chronicles X's composer is Hiroyuki Sawano, best known for the OST for Attack on Titan. You heard a bit of it during the fight with Elma, but I'm only 6 minutes into the video so you may have heard more later. The music for Xenoblade X is very different from the rest of the series, but is super unique and powerful. Would highly recommend checking it or the game itself out someday.

I absolutely hate Merc Missions for spoiling Floren’s blade quest for me! I knew Merc Missions were a great way to grind blade’s affinity charts especially for 4 star common blades for overdrive protocols. I remember a mission needed at least a full team of female blades and i’m confused going. “Why isn’t Floren counting? Waaaaaaait…” … (plays blade quest, “You’ve got to be kidding me”
