Kenan Durmisi no I know , I have seen back to back dyno readings using this and the standard filter the charge cooler works better if it’s already cooling cold air not hot , sucking hot air into a turbo charged engine is not ideal

Volume of air is more important than slightly higher intake temps. A bigger intercooler will easily make up the difference. The factory air box is too restrictive

ZF8 is great gearbox standard, should make it seriously rapid after XHP stage 3 flash.

Loving the engine cover ! Air/foam filter is terrible, and detrimental to gains. I'm seriously considering the xHP map on mine, but a little niggle in the back of my mind, is : how the hell can increasing the torque limits, and pressures in the box, extend the life of the gearbox (as this tuner said). Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't understand that at the moment, and would love to be enlightened.

I’m sure this does make a difference but did he really say this will improve the life of the gearbox. No way, complete BS. Luke i hope you get the gearbox serviced, I know they say sealed for like but they mean the life of the gearbox. Get it done at 40k

I'm sure on standard setup there is slight slipping on clutch components however using the xhp flash allows no slip due to higher clamping force. To my understanding this is what they mean by kind to the gearbox. My biggest concern was removing torque limit.

Quick question regarding this video, I've recently installed the XHP Stage 3 map on my 340i (no engine tune), and have noticed that on manual up-shifs in Comfort mode, the gearbox actually takes longer to respond than on the stock map. Have you experienced anything similar? Keep up the good work 👍 Jack

In case you happen to see this, the manual shift in comfort is slower, on the stock maps it shifts as fast as say s shift in sport+, but with XHP in comfort it shifts at the same speed as the regular “drive” mode shifts. Sport is a bit quicker, but sport+ is quickest. There’s an infographic that shows what changes with the stages if you search around a bit

Torque limiter caused it to happen. Same happened to me in the past it’s to do with the torque limiting on the ecu

@@Addselwyn perk of being a ZF, most cars use them. Can pick a 8HP50 which these use for £300😂 or you can go for the more powerful 8hp70 which will hold 1000nm easy.

Do you get the wheel click from the big brake kit that you've installed. Apparently it's a common issue because of the dimpled slotted rotors making the noise. Have you any fix for this.. Got them on my f30 380 mm front and 340 rear. Its sort of a clicking noise especially next to some road barriers or parked traffick.. You help or ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks

Well sorted car Luke,love all the mods done that improve the car,now having the gearbox flash unleashing more driving pleasure can you please do a proper evaluation on those ebc brakes you have added, are the really up to stopping 450 plus bhp ?motech talk them up but there is no evidence of their own work,so can I ask you take the lead and really give us the hard honest truth from the road as opposed to sales talk,your honesty has kept me watching, love the car mate....

The gear shifts seem really quick now. I'm not so sure i would want a shunt everytime i change up a gear. I would want seamless gear shifts. Have i missed it or have you forgot to post the guys details who mapped the box? He sounds like he really knows his stuff which I'm sure he does. 👍 Btw, your car does sound good. It won’t give you more torque, but it increases the torque limit on the ZF box meaning that you can utilise the stage 2 tune. Otherwise it caps the torque in 3rd and 6th to 500NM

8HP50s run 700nm reliably, even if it does go wrong he can pick on up for £300 or even change to a 8HP70 which can hold 1000nm reliably.
