Have you installed windows to your steam deck? The nreal air work great with my steam deck in steam os but with windows the steam deck screen is mirrored to the nreal air glasses (but does not turn off the screen on the steam deck, thus wasting battery) and the sound doesn't come through the nreal air glasses either.. is there a solution to this like a windows driver or something like that to fix this? Thanks

OK so I wear glasses to see things that are far away. I am wondering if I need to wear my glasses if the lenses are so close to my eyes. When I am laying in bed looking at my iPad, I do not need my glasses. If I am driving or taking a walk or something, I need my glasses to see things that are farther than arms length

@@Blaze2k It would be a first attempt, however, my mom and her sister and even my grandfather just so happened to have been opticians, lol. I was able to observe what goes on somewhat though minus all the math. Theres room for open source solutions. It's really just plastic at the end of the day that can be edited with things such as the dremel or a drill press, even adjusting curvature with mild heat. The arms for the headset for possibly allow for this, if not to mod it with 3d printing or mold making something from ultralight carbon fibre based filaments or materials. Graphene and aerogel can not be ruled out if to consider in the making of ultra light weight structures.

Can you explain why you say it’s like having a 201inch screen at 6 meters, vs saying a 130 inch screen at 10ft or 24 inch screen at 2ft? Does it feel its that far away when viewing?
@XREAl_Tech_Support
@XREAl_Tech_Support Жыл бұрын
Hi, let me clarify this for you. The 201 inches screen can be got in AR mode, and it is at 6 meters and adjustable. Under screen casting mode, you can have a 130 inches virtual screen at a fixed 4 meters away.

@davidgordon3744
@davidgordon3744 Жыл бұрын
@@anguslean4058 thanks. I got the answer from another reviewer before. They informed me that the glasses are in fact able to give you the perception of distance. Knowing they, I assume they may do so by how much the eyes cross while looking at an image, as the less they cross the further the image appears to be. So, it’s not only a statement of the size of a screen to a distance, but also the perceived distance at which the glasses make the screen appear to be at.

The huge screen is just an effect and a mind trick, you have no reference of how big it really is. Now it just looks like a laptop screen close to your eyes. Maybe its just me because im used to oculus quest and big screen where you sit in a cinema so you have the surrounding as reference. Nreal is nice though and still a must have but the hype is not for me as the glasses do not fit my head comfortably and the actual lenses are very small so i cant see the full screen.

At a 46 degree field of view, the screen size is actually more comparable to a 24 inch at 2 ft away, not 1 meter, which is a good difference. I agree with your concern though, and want to see why it’s more compared to a 201 inch screen at 6 meters away (17ft few inches according to my math). Does it appear to be further away than a close screen? Maybe it feels that way because you don’t need to cross eyes like you would being so close to a 24 inch? I’ll find out myself in December as I’ve preordered the competitor, viture one.

This has been stated multiple times my advice to people who are getting over excited don't be you're not missing out on anything you would rather be glued to the mobile screen there is no need for this yet wait until the next big tech comes out next year.

@Blaze2k
@Blaze2k Жыл бұрын
You don't know what you're talking about. On the AR experience you can scale it up to the equivalent of a 201" display infront of you by adjusting depth/distance and size of the image. The only limiting factor is the visible portion of display which is mitigated by the fact you can move your head to see more! The only experience that isn't capable of 200" is HDMI input which locks in your focal position at around a 120inch equivalent. They are working on software to enable head tracking with the Steam Deck to enable an experience like their AR phone app letting you scale it up to 200inches should you wish.
