What an impressive synth. Polyphonic aftertouch should be on all synths. That's a lot of power and heft. Fun video. I recall watching a video (from the 1980s) that showed BBC using this synth for Doctor Who (theme and effects).

Amazing synth - and has so many features that are not readily available on a lot of modern synths - thanks for watching!!

CS-80 is my favorite synth of all time. That being said, I wouldn’t want to own one, because I don’t want to have to take care of one. Still I always wished somebody would make a modern synth with the polyaftertouch expressiveness of the CS-80. ASM did exactly that with the Hydrasynth Deluxe. I bought one last month. It was the first new hardware synth that I bought in 35 years. I love it. Once I get tired of playing with the onboard sounds, I intend to hook it up to my CS-80 emulating software synths.

The Hydrasynth Deluxe looks awesome - sounds like it can work hooked up to your emulation. Yes - the CS80 is my favourite synth too - thanks for watching!!

no way Id have that positioned just inside the window where the sunlight could get at it. Not sure what those keys are made out of but would suck if they yellowed.
@AndyWhitmore

Ha - you make me laugh - but I agree with you - sunlight is not good for the Synth - how ever - the window is to the vocal booth live room & there is NO sunlight coming through there - Thanks for watching!!!
@joeynuggetz

@@AndyWhitmore lol, that totally looked like sunlight :-) I was gonna say - I dont even have my crappy midi controller near a window as I've been a victim of yellowing keys before.

@@joeynuggetz I have noted re the sunlight - re the keyboards next to the only window in the studio!

I just can't understand why no one wants to make a proper modern recreation of this with polyphonic aftertouch and everything. Shouldn't be all that expensive either.

Behringer are having a stab at it with so far disappointing results. In the meantime we have Deckards Dream synth which is a recreation of the cs80 and of course the virtual Cs80V.
