Duke Snider, Willie Mays, Mickey Mantle, Andruw Jones, Curtis Granderson as only CFs to have back to back 40 homer seasons in MLB history? I'm pretty sure Ken Griffey Jr did it at least once right?

You're correct! I thought I had put Griffey in there, but apparently I only had him on the .800 OPS / 2k hit list. The Kid went back-to-back in 1993-94, and also had five straight seasons from 1996-2000. I will pin this comment so everyone can see it.

Honestly, the Yankees just have an Outfield dynasty in general. Look at all their Right Fielders: Babe Ruth, Roger Maris, Reggie Jackson, Dave Winfield, and now Aaron Judge. That’s also crazy. They probably have stronger CF’s, but still. LF isn’t as impressive for them. But Rickey Henderson, Charlie Keller, and Roy White aren’t a bad weak link either.

Don't know how I forgot to give a 👍 yesterday. Hundred-year connection any of us could have seen - but you brought it out. I'm a Cardinals fan and don't much care for the Yankees - but I have to give them their due. It's not just deep pockets that fueled their success. Come on! Lou Gehrig was a New Yorker and Reggie Jackson admired the organization at a distance. Of course they have the money but they have a history of getting the right people at the right time. Not just players: front office talent, management, scouts, development personnel. Just a smart organization that usually knows how to capitalize on its opportunities. Sure, they let Willie McGee get away - but how often has that happened? Baseball wouldn't be Baseball without the Yankees....

He batted in the #4 slot, as a switch hitter who played great defense. I don't know the saber metrics stuff, but I personally saw Bernie get to line drives in the alley that looked like sure extra base hits and rob guys all the time. his speed was a serious defensive advantage. Babe Ruth is so weird to me. Look at him in the picture at 2:17 - his head looks photoshopped onto his body. Looking at other images of him, he doesn't look athletic AT ALL, but he OBVIOUSLY was. He played center field, but he's got the body of a history teacher! Sidenote: Joe DiMaggio's slide at 4:02 is atrocious! Lmao!

Joe was actually a very smart baserunner haha. I like how aggressive the slide was, imagine if someone was standing on the base.

The shift is definitely interesting. I'd have to look its relationship with Ryan Howard further. There's still plenty of slow, pull-happy lefties in today's MLB.
