Hey, Splattercat! I'm Anniemay, a Narrative Designer on Broken Roads! Thanks so much for the in-depth, honest coverage of our game! I wanted to let you know that I've taken plenty of notes surrounding combat and passed it onto the team to get fixes like Enemy Selectivity looking better as we patch Broken Roads! We really want combat to shine and your feedback helps us get there! On the pacing, we've been hearing these sentiments and we're keen to find ways to add some more combat to the earlier parts of the game, and make opportunities to move things along in different, exciting ways. Thanks again and hope you continue to enjoy Broken Roads!

Great news. As a fan of games such as UnderRail, Shadowrun and original Fallout, I definitely agree that there should be more combat encounters. I remember that the demo had just one or two encounters, and that you as a player had to initialize them both by choosing the more aggressive options in the dialogue. Which was a shame, since I always prefer combat to talking. :D Overall, the game feels fantastic, especially the art style and the setting.

I am from Eastern Europe. I am a fairly large military man; I swim under the ice, and I can bench over 140 kilos. So, when my brother married an Australian girl, I naturally went to his wedding down there, especially since our parents were afraid of such a long flight. I was never afraid of spiders before; the ones we have here are pretty small and afraid of people. The first morning I woke up in Australia was also the first time I suddenly faced the fact that some spiders can get so big that you actually hear them running on the floor. I love my brother dearly, and I do miss him, but I am not going to visit again anytime soon.
