This is GREAT tv: writing, actors, moral lessons.. and of course the battles of good vs evil at the end of EVERY episode… real heroic stuff for kids and adults alike. The writing team simply never ran out of material… and that means a lot in the competitive tv biz. A+

This was an exceptionally good episode. The plot nicely interwove Yoshimune mentoring and helping two people from totally different social strata: the downcast Rōnin Okamoto of great character and worth, and the young Daimyō Iyonokami, also of great worth but inexperienced and in need of a good role model. I like how the writers wove the subplots together. Asaemon's appearances at the beginning and climax of the story enriched it further. This was also one of the rare episodes where Shin san is revealed as the Shogun, and both friends and foes alike are stunned by this. The actor who played Okamoto was excellent. And the subplot with the Sadamune sword breaking in shame due to being wielded by a fiend against the righteous Shōgun was brilliant, after Yoshimune's speech to Okamoto's wife - "the sword is not important, it's the heart of the man who wields it." Great stuff.

At 46:28 min, it’s so satisfying to see the badass villain got beaten up by 3 good guys. This episode taught the young daimyo a way of life. Thanks Mr. Yosemune.

I thought first that the title means that Okamoto is proud of the famous sword, but in the end, I understood that the sword has its pride and destroyed itself .
