Michael Dale Rimmer's initial conviction was overturned on appeal in August of 2012. He was again convicted of murder and sentenced to death in 2016. That verdict and sentence were upheld by the Tennessee Supreme Court in April of 2021. He appealed that decision in April of 2022, and a stay of execution was issued as a result. Rimmer remains on Tennessee Death Row, pending the outcome of his latest appeal.

It's wild that they still manage to find time to solve these crimes while still managing to also play baseball all year long. Kudos to this baseball team that solves crimes when they are off duty. They are like Scooby Doo and the gang, but better.

Its quite sad that the young man ended up recording his own murder. Its hard to believe there are people that evil & stupid amongst us. To deprive that little girl of her daddy because you don't want to share only to end up in prison for life depriving her of both parents. No one wins, the little girl suffers for life. What a POS mom she is!

I turned 1 two days after the DNA came back in Mrs. Shumacher's case :) I LOVE forensics criminals can run but they eventually gonna get caught. Also LOVE that saying from the Texas Rangers because of just HOW true it really is. An innocent person suspected of a crime in any way is ALWAYS going to tell the honest to Heaven truth as long as the interviews are done correct and proper. Someone guilty of a crime even if they're just an accessory after the fact will change their story the more the officers pus them until they're so backed up to the edge of the cliff so to speak that they're going off regardless and they're finally FORCED to tell the truth or to simply admit the truth. A criminal can only lie so many times before the officers get to a point where they can look the criminal in the face and tell them point blank that they're lying and the officers know it.

The first woman (Ricci Elsworth) got what she deserved. It's poetic justice and frankly, funny, that the man she cheated on her husband with did the dirty work. If a cop asks you what time it is, the correct answer is "I want a lawyer" If any of these criminals were smart, they wouldn't talk to the cops. But they almost always do and get caught in dumb lies.

@@ShadowCloutJutsu The nationwide clearance rate for homicide is abysmal, around 63% That's just the murders we know about. But that doesn't change the fact that you shouldn't talk to the police, especially if you didn't do anything wrong. It also doesn't change the fact that a lot of the forensics is pretty impressive.

Polygraphs are pseudoscience, right up there with _mediums_ and _body language experts._ This is why whatever they find, it cannot count as evidence or even be admitted. LE rely way too much on them in terms of excluding and focusing on people. They have a place, but it's fooling possible perps. That LE use them as actual evidence of whether or not someone's lying is downright scary. You know how many killers have passed polygraphs? or innocent people failed them? Tons!

Definitely they can. But they don’t bother taking them due to being smart enough to lawyer up as soon as the police want to talk to them. Being a sociopath doesn’t mean stupid or crazy.

You're absolutely correct. Moreover I don't see hoe people can't see what slippery slope DNA is. They're going so far now as to use totally innocent peoples 23 and Me and test such as that to run searches like its CODIS. The ends doesn't always justify the means.
