Even the earlier generation of actors were doing amazing jobs at an young age; eg: Shobana played the award winning character in Manichitrathazhu in her early 20's. The difference here is most of them played mature characters far beyond their age on screen. The reason for this is that the youth psyche or the challenges of youngsters that age was not represented in those movies

my favorite among them is anaswara rajan , she is such a talented girl. I became a fan of her after watching neru where she acted as a blind girl. i would recommend everyone to watch this film. I think it would be interesting to anaswara and naslen pair not like super sharanya but as as the lead couple tho

Please don't overrate these upcoming artists. We know what happened to most of the artists, writers and directors who came to the film industry 10 years ago. Most of them are field out now. Every industry makes content based narrative films But the difference between them and Malayalam is the quantity too. What other industry makes in 5 years, our industry makes in a single year. Also i challenge if their top teir actors are making any different kind of films other than mass masala movies. Just look at the filmography of mamooty, mohanlal and prithviraj. Do chiranjeevi, allu arjun, vijay, rajnikant had made any different movies?? The answer is No!!

There is only one superstar in Malayalam industry.. that is Mohanlal from the film Balan to till now.. young kids are good but they will come and go..they will be wash out from industry after 26-27 age..and new kids will come and this process will continue...and todays people are not interested with word like superstar or like that.. they will consider only a human/actor... even a mobile owner can become big influencer than a filim actor...and so there will not be any superstar people are engaged in there own life...

Malayalam cinema was always good . May be some years it was down , like Kannada cinema . I love watching Malayalam movies because we don’t switch between Switzerland - and Indian slums . It’s very realistic , grounded in local culture . However I do have some issues with their ways of depicting few things .

@@heretichello8253 yes from Bollywood. You can do a google search and will end up on Quora or Reditt with a list. This might not be exhaustive though. I watch both language movies and know of them. Most of Hindi movies which were Malayalam remakes in the past are either by Malayalam directors or related. Now though most of our movies are being purchased to be remade in Hindi. I also dislike the shortsighted approach of these critics, Laapata Ladies is a better movie than any of the recent super hit Malayalam movies. There are good movies there too but unlike Malayalam audience who appreciate and celebrate good cinemas, Hindi audiences do not and that is their bane.
