If you notice, there is no bass player. The super talented Felix is not only singing the song he wrote but playing the Hammond B-3 organ left and right hand along with the bass pedals with both feet adjusting the volume as well...let me see someone in today's music do half of these things!

This is a great clip. Not only was it truly live and not lip-synced, but the TV director actually knew what he was doing with the shots. And for you kids out there...I was 9 years old when this happened, and you have no idea what it was like to grow up with music like this. Great music, all of the time, new and fresh. I can only image what it was like to be 19. I feel bad you missed out.

I fear that it is no longer easy for young people to understand what new and fresh music means, when much of the music they consume is repeated, pre-recorded and canned..., which is why most of today's stars and bands sound very different live compared to its studio recording...

You and I are the same age. I saw them when I was 16 in 1966 when they toured with Dick Clark's "Where the Action Is" and then again in 1970. I had started playing drums in 1966 and was in a garage band at the time. I continue to play drums today with my "copper sparkle" Gretsch which are the same color. After high school, I took professional jazz lessons and my playing expanded to jazz, American Standards, Motown, Soft Rock and Classic Rock and always, lower volume with finesse. Nothing against what I played then because if I hadn't gotten the bug - particularly by Dino Danelli - I wouldn't have continued to play. Rest in peace, Dino. What an inspiration!

So much energy here, from Felix's soulful singing, to Eddie's choreographic twin tambourines and backup singing, to Gene's excited guitar playing , to the late Dino's impressive conquest of the drums!
